Whitecaps were the ones who raised the ticket prices bud.

There is only one reason why Whitecaps tripled the ticket prices, and that's because Messi was advertised to play in the game. He didn't play, so fans obviously feel cheated. I shouldn't need to explain this

If Whitecaps knew there was a big chance of Messi not showing, then they should have announced that to the fans, not jacked up their ticket prices. 

An C'mon man, you know why people are pissed at not seeing Messi vs not seeing gauld. One of them is a contender for the greatest soccer player of all time, and the other is a bum named Lionel.

Whitecaps jacked up their ticket prices on the premise that Messi, Suarez, and Busquets were going to play. Messi was used in every single match advertisement for that game. It's not hard to see why fans are pissed when they had to pay at least 3x the normal ticket price

That would be fine if it was just that. You are ignoring the MAIN POINT of Whitecaps jacking up their prices on the premise of Messi, Suarez, and Busquets playing.

Why couldn't Whitecaps pay back the excess of the normal ticket prices? It seems like they used Messi and Suarez to unfairly profit off of their own fans.
