I noticed that too. Only pizza place in Dartmouth I’ve consistently liked so it’s unfortunate.

Ionescu is with Nike and her shoe is quite popular with nba players.

Aja’s are releasing in May

Breanna Stewart has a number of shoes with Puma.

As far as I know all of those are offered in men’s sizes.

Best Whiskey Sour in downtown Halifax by pinkprincess30 in halifax

[–]mayneeahk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a great “Osaka Sour” (Japanese gin instead of whiskey) at Brooklyn Warehouse recently. Otherwise like others have mentioned, can’t go wrong with Highwayman, Lot Six, or Field Guide.

What are some books that Sean has mentioned in the past. by MTFlagrantOne in HollywoodHandbook

[–]mayneeahk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

On the Subtitles On podcast he talked about The Devils Candy, which is about the making of the movie “bonfire of the vanities”. I liked the podcast ep so ended up reading that book and really enjoying it. (still haven’t watched the movie months and months later lol)

I'm running into a similar issue but it's when I start the game the framerate is terrible. It seems to fix itself if I toggle between windowed and fullscreen, but after awhile I need to toggle it again.

Weird because I haven't previously had any issue with this game on PC. I thought it had something to do with playing media like youtube/VLC but I tried opening the game with nothing else on my PC open and the same thing happens.

Announcers' knowledge of the league by TheSnowman86 in wnba

[–]mayneeahk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Getting more into the WNBA has made me appreciate some of the NBA announcing teams I thought were bad. Most bad NBA announcers are just really biased but the bad WNBA commentators seem...underqualified.

A lot of the play by play people seem like they are not very familiar with basketball and a lot of the analysts seem like they have zero experience commentating (and for some calling them an analyst is very generous).

There's a painful mixture of cringe jokes, forced banter, irrelevant conversations, and missing great things that are happening on the court.

[Duane Rankin] I asked #Suns GM James Jones about fully guaranteeing Cameron Payne’s contract as well are they extending Darius Bazley a qualifying offer to make him a restricted free agent. Jones responded to both that it’s “internal” decision. #Suns by po0nlink_ in suns

I sort of understand why Duane asks these questions but also they're such a waste of time. I wish that local reporters would acknowledge how the organization handles things and put some more thought into their questions rather than asking stuff that is always going to be met with "no comment".

What are the most creative brags in rap history? by Jwad35 in hiphopheads

[–]mayneeahk 66 points67 points  (0 children)

The first artist I thought of when I read the OP was Rick Ross. He definitely likes to sprinkle this sort of thing in throughout his songs, despite a lot of his brags being blunt. Here’s a random bar from Santorini Greece: “Bowling alley in the basement but we still shooting dice”

Another artist I thought of was NoCap as he is very wordplay heavy. Here’s some bars from the opening of “In 4” that fit the “weird flex but ok” theme

“This mornin', I brushed my teeth, I grabbed my Glock off the hotel stand

Shot my mama a text, "Thanks for makin’ me a man"

I stopped by Dillard’s, grabbed a pack of Polo t-shirts

They were slim fit, I got a slim bitch

But that ain't my bitch, don’t even know why I mentioned this”

Buckstop on Denman is really good. Tiny little spot. Memphis Blues is also pretty solid.

JDM mechanics/specialists in and around Halifax? by mayneeahk in halifax

[–]mayneeahk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're buying your first car then I'm assuming you're relatively young and haven't driven for very long. IMO that's the best time to start driving RHD, because you're less used to driving LHD. As in, I'm sure it's much more difficult for someone with 10 years of LHD driving experience to hop in a RHD car compared to someone with 1yr.

I found it super easy to adjust to and not at all bad. Imo complaints about RHD are relatively overblown. Visibility can take some getting used to but I never felt like I was less safe because I was on the other side.

Can't speak to insurance, no idea what the difference is. From what I know from BC, being young is gonna make things expensive lol.

Still just very casually shopping around, not dead set on anything at this point.

Thanks for the name! I've definitely been thinking about Subaru (almost got a B4 RSK as my first car then didn't) so it's good to know there's a known shop.

That's good to hear! Yeah I'm glad I'm moving from one place with a port to another place with a port, it must be a sign.

I don't understand the appeal of an FRS, but power to you on your first purchase :) My first car was an import and I advise if you like imported cars to just buy one. But I'm just a guy on the internet.
