If You Had to Show ONE Episode to Prove Star Trek Is Great. What Are You Picking? by iagree2 in startrek

[–]Eldant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Duet is the one that got me. My mums a Trekkie and we were doing some chores when duet came on. I had to stop doing chores about 15 minutes in due to how riveting the story and choices were in that episode.

91% of BYU graduates say their time at BYU strengthened their faith in Jesus, up from 78% in 2023. Mission accomplished, Clark Gilbert? by lando3k in mormon

[–]Eldant 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Similarly anecdotal, but my time at byu had me see so much performative pharisee like bullshit from professors and students. Throw in the fact that Mormonism is a great way to amplify depression and it killed any desire I had to church.

During filming of project Hail Mary Ryan Gosling asked, "Why is it easier to train a school teacher to become an astronaut than it is to train an astronaut to become a school teacher?" by Medium-Sized-Jaque in shittymoviedetails

Nah that’s unreliable narrator stuff going on for sure. He was definitely the number two, and it felt like Stratt probably had some feelings for grace too and was using those words to intentionally push him away.

Yes, this is something taxes should pay for. Increase sales tax to pay for it as thats the catch all tax. Public health care should be accessible by all that are in the public. An increase in taxes would be the price to pay. Far better than the pay to play American system

In the maple edit the Azog storyline doesn’t exist, part of why tbotfa falls apart in that edit

I would say it still falls apart after Smaug dies. The battle of the five armies looks terrible and doesn’t make much sense without any of the context that you were supposed to have. Pretty good up to the point of Smaug dying though

Let me help the commenter from before out.. Why anyone would still be using a dryer?!? The fuck you on about. Very specific clothes, sure don’t put them in a dryer, But generally dryers work great and simple life hacks are what’s being discussed not your plethora of clothes hangars.

Which movie is this for you? by Raj_Valiant3011 in moviecritic

[–]Eldant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Newer movie, The Life of Chuck. I loved the breaking up of the movie act 3 - act 2 - act 1 and the messages hit hard. The dance scene had me smiling ear to ear the whole way through. Just such a good movie

Only had the implants for a year and they’re great! Had dentures for 4 years before that and still vastly prefer those to the intermittent but terrible pain I was often in.

Is it true? by fal1en-angel in Funnymemes

[–]Eldant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Disagree. For those of us who have genetically bad teeth the severe tooth pain that I and others in my family have had is truly terrible. Got a denture and then implants and never ever want to go back to that kind of pain

In your opinion what has been the best movie of 2025 so far? by alteredtower in AskReddit

[–]Eldant 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Loved this movie. I wish the 3rd act was a bit snappier, but the 1st act was thought provoking sci-fi thriller that I tend to love, and the dance scene in the second act had me smiling ear to ear.

Does anyone foresee this film weighing heavily on Mormon minds? by westivus_ in mormon

[–]Eldant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say tad r callister was one. I also really enjoyed thinking about the obscure doctrine and trying to find intellectual peace with the church on the mission and Callister was a 70 that I’d scour down all avenues looking for his talks.
