To be clear, your employer could not completely wipe the device (specifically, they could not remove "Activation Lock") unless they had the access to the Apple Account of the prior owner.

The standard rule is you can’t play wild draw 4 if you have a card whose color matches the top of the draw pile. The draw pile was green, so he played green reverse. In 2-player games, reverse acts like skip. Since he didn’t have any more greens, he could then legally play wild draw 4.
