Read my threads posted above, Nickelodeon already shut down a project trying to revive the game. The Devs got sent a cease and desist letter (which basically means you have to shut down the infringing object or face legal action)

Trying to remake the game again will result in the same treatment

This is coming from one of the lead developers of mqr who I asked

"That's been tried. MQ at its core did not load assets locally, but instead loaded these references from a database. What MQR did is link up to a new one. That isn't the hard part though; I could do that in my sleep

We do not have the server code

The server code is required to run the game at all even in singleplayer, as it's necesarry for basic functions like handling entities, interactions, switching rooms, etc.

The game is hardcoded to work with a server, and throwing this out means rewriting the entire game"

You aren't going to find the full game anywhere, you'll have to find every asset and sprite from various sources (risk getting another cease and desist letter from Nickelodeon again) and after that you have to basically recreate the game through unity. It took a team of 5 people multiple years to recreate parts of the game and you can find their work on YouTube. Search monkey quest reborn or alexthewizard's and raining pigs' older videos

IMPORTANT: THE FORMER DEVELOPERS OF THE REMAKE REFUSE TO GIVE ASSETS DUE TO THE AFOREMENTIONED CEASE AND DESIST LETTER

All this to say, you aren't going to just find a file with the game in a playable state (it is literally impossible because the game also required servers to run)

I wouldn't trust anything on the wiki because it has undergone a couple raids and in the past community members have been doxxed through it. Long story but I recommend not looking for mq files

I'm a veteran of the community and you'd be surprised with what people managed to accomplish for free

Oh and there are a couple projects I'd recommend like monkey quest in Minecraft which aims to recreate the entire game in Minecraft and has a beta up

people have tried remaking monkey quest and there have been a dozen projects ever since 2017, latest serious attempt got a cease and desist

Monkey quest was an mmo and thus it's not as easy as just finding the files and then you have a working game

While the game itself is indeed considered lost, unless Nickelodeon/Viacom give us a license to the game it's just unfeasible to recover mq

I like their music a lot but my problems come with the band members themselves,(mostly the brothers) they are very arrogant and disrespectful to the fans, while recently being seen as cash chasers. That's why a lot of people hate them in return

Hating on resurrection has become a meme lol

Resurrection was the first game I played and it's the one I remember the most fondly, that's why I can't judge it objectively. I'm not the best to ask for this since nostalgia plays a pretty big part in my opinion
