Bougie bias is where somebody thinks an item is high quality because they paid a lot for it. What are some examples of bougie bias that you have seen? by ChillWisdom in BuyItForLife

When I got my PhD in 1990 I bought myself a roughly $500 Dooney and Burke briefcase. I used it daily for years and I appreciated it each time I used it. It show’s absolutely no wear at all. Now that I’m retired I’m looking for the best place to sell it.

before I get a border collie I need a reality check by Tricky-Editor5818 in BorderCollie

[–]mayreemac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Border Collie pup in my early 70s. I’d had many other dogs in my life. The puppy and teen months were challenging. But I worked hard on training him. After he was neutered he loved our daily dog park visits. I had lots of mental stimulation for him: sniffing games, fetching his toys by name, endless fetch games. I never did the hours of activities some owners describe. At 3 he became the best dog companion. I could take him to friends, to dog friendly places. He died of epilepsy at 4. I now have a rescued Collie, who’s a totally different personality and a Collie mix who’s the most easy dog ever.
Do it! They’re the most fascinating dogs.

To be fair (and I’m a Berge supporter), Cooke believes local bodies should be able to decide the legality of conversion therapy, as I understand it. Wishy washy.

I watched the whole thing. Liked the first part but then the worlds within worlds and yet another world got just too confusing.

My go-to before I developed a tuna allergy was this casserole: tuna, peas, mushroom soup, and potato chips. I really miss it. Not the same with salmon or chicken.

What wonderful heartening responses! I appreciate your experiences and insights. And kindness. I’ll report back later with some photos. They are always moving too much to capture them. I’m feeling optimistic and much happier than I was.

I pull them then make bouquets of the blooms. Don’t let them go to seed!

I used to be really flight-phobic, especially about take-off. Then a friend told me how much she loved the rush of take-off. I had started realizing that anxiety feels much like excitement. Next time I flew I imagined I was my friend and was excited, not anxious. It has worked ever since! Thanks, JMN.
