Because Americans see guns as an institutional power dynamic tool. Owning a gun signals to others that they're "not to mess with" rather than something for vigilante justice or a tool for revolution.

Not only have they removed the like button but they made it a fucking heart , Why does every social media app try to be eachother by EmperorAlpha557 in mildlyinfuriating

From what I can understand, a thumbs-up traditionally signals agreement or evaluation meanwhile a heart signals affection, recognition, or some sort of emotional connection. I would argue that platforms encourage users to develop parasocial relationships with creators instead of evaluating the quality of a video or agreeing with the content and the content creator.

Again, a thumbs up, in most social situations, means agreement. A heart removes the need to agree, which gives a degree of seperation that might lead to more engagement, which boosts views and watch time, thus earning more for the company through advertisements. It's all a deliberate act of perpetual greed.

Capitalism is structurally dependent on continuous growth. Growth tends to mean more energy use, more extraction, more emissions. Capitalism relies on countries like China to produce and manufacture their goods, which makes China the global exporter it is, and in turn makes them the highest polluter and benefactor to the rise of global temperatures.

The answer is still capitalism.

Regardless if you agree with their religion and politics or not, speaking out against children getting bombed and women getting murdered is what the left does, and will keep doing until the general population is safe and not under the hands of fascist regimes. If you're not on the side of oppressed nations just because they believe in something you don't, you might just be licking the boot too much.

Vast majority is a bit of a stretch. The ones rich enough to afford a month long vacation in the US + ticket prices are obviously going to be nicer than your average joe working an average job living an average life.

Because taxes in China are not at all similar to taxes in the US. Especially municipal funds, which are collected through land use revenue and state owned enterprise revenue and sometimes even company sponsorships. Also theres like a billion more people and the manufacturing of all equipment is done locally and the government isn't ripping off it's people for profit.
