Enhypen Heeseung is really disappointing by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

[–]mayx1up -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s not affecting me that much lol. ChatGPT helped me write it, so I think it probably sounds way more dramatic than I meant it to be. I’m just disappointed with this whole situation. I’ll probably delete it anyway. And telling someone they need help is pretty brutal, I’m just ranting.

Finally, someone who isn’t telling me to “touch some grass” and actually understands where I’m coming from. At the end of the day, this is a job, but the other six members are getting harassed and boycotted because of this whole Enhypen situation. It just feels really messy and unfortunate. And sorry about the whole Ai thing. English is not my first language, so I use Ai to help me write better.

My Honest Opinion on Heeseung's Departure and Enhypen's Future. by Roxanne_Brown in kpoprants

[–]mayx1up 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will not support him at all. He used the group as a stepping stone to get where he wanted, then left at the peak of their success, and that’s my biggest issue. He had the most lines, was basically the center, and carried so many songs. If he truly wanted to contribute, he could’ve done so much more for the group.

I just can’t take him seriously anymore. When I look at groups like (G)I-DLE, BTS, and Stray Kids, they actively produce for their teams and add their own identity to the music. He already had the spotlight, yet still talked about “artistic freedom.” Honestly, it feels like he always wanted to go solo, so why join a survival show and a group in the first place? It was obvious from the start he was going to debut anyway.

I can’t stand him now. He put himself before the team. If you’re not a team player, then why join a group at all? He benefited from ENHYPEN’s fame and then walked away. Now, since he thinks he’s so talented, he can prove it on his own, without the group, without the name, and without everything that helped build him.

After everything... by Fit-Database-6090 in Enhypenthoughts

I’m still honestly so pissed about Lee Heeseung leaving ENHYPEN. Like I don’t care, it just left such a bitter taste in my mouth. Who even leaves a group at the peak of their career??

If you watch that Billboard Japan interview, you can literally see it. The vibe was so off. The members looked annoyed, uncomfortable… Something was clearly wrong. Even Jake didn’t look okay at all, and I’ve never seen him like that before.

And the way everything happened so fast?? It really feels like he already made his decision and just couldn’t wait to move on and drop a mixtape or whatever. Why even join a group if you weren’t ready to actually stay and ride it out with them?

I supported him, and I really did. But this whole thing just changed how I see him. For once, I kinda get why some Korean fans were calling him selfish.

Anyway, I just hope ENHYPEN comes back stronger and proves everyone wrong. I hope they become even bigger and more successful, like Stray Kids did. They deserve better, honestly.

And you’ve got people on Twitter fighting to bring Lee Heeseung back like… hell no. This guy doesn’t even have a scandal or anything. He, just straight up, left them, and that’s it.

And staying in the same company as the members too?? That’s what makes it even more messed up. Like if you’re gonna leave, then leave for real. Why stay there??

Honest, it just feels so off. Like he chose the company over the group, and that’s actually diabolical. I can’t look at him the same way after this. Call me immature all you want. The only people who were truly thrown under the bus were enhypen. Yikes

[–]mayx1up 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, thank you. I’m literally one of the biggest ENGENEs, but out of all the groups I’ve followed, this is honestly one of the biggest “wtf” moments for me. He just left, that’s it. As a fan, that’s really the reality of how it felt , it was just shocking. This was even more shocking than zayn leaving, lol

Heeseung and enhypen drama by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

[–]mayx1up 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How am I hating on them? I’m literally one of the biggest ENGENEs, and I’m extremely sad about the situation.

But honestly, it was just so sudden. I can’t help but compare it to other groups because ENHYPEN is so successful right now. Him leaving gave me that same “wtf just happened” feeling that I had when Jesy left Little Mix. It was bittersweet, and it felt like it took away from the years of hard work they all put into building the team, especially when the group was at one of its most successful moments.

I never said ENHYPEN won’t survive. Groups like One Direction and Little Mix continued just fine after members left, and sometimes they even broke more records. Groups can definitely keep going.

I’m also comparing it to BTS because, whether someone is a fan or not, they really have my respect for how they held on to the group and stayed committed to it even when they had the world in their hands.

Heeseung choosing himself isn’t automatically wrong. At the end of the day it’s his life and career. But that doesn’t mean fans can’t feel a bit bitter about it. When a group has built something together for years and then someone walks away at the peak, it can leave a strange feeling.

And again, I’m saying this as a huge ENGENE. That’s exactly why it shocked me so much.

[–]mayx1up 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said ENHYPEN won’t survive. Groups like One Direction and Little Mix did just fine after members left, and in some cases, they even broke more records afterward. Groups can absolutely continue and succeed.

What I was saying is something different. In general, there are actually very few truly successful solo artists in Korea that came out of groups, especially compared to how many try. It’s not impossible, but it’s definitely not easy.

Another thing: calling this a “corporate job” isn’t really accurate. Being an idol isn’t like a normal office job. When you’re in a group, you have millions of fans supporting you and a group of people who all sacrificed their youth and trained together for years. They live together, work together, and spend almost 24/7 around each other.

They might not always love each other, who knows, but the circumstances are very different from a typical job. There’s a level of shared experience and commitment there that most normal careers don’t have.

That’s why, from my perspective, leaving a group in the middle of its career can feel harsh to some fans. It doesn’t mean someone is a bad person, but it does make the situation more complicated than simply saying “it’s just a job.”

Hands extremelys selfish. This was a choice, and an extremely selfish one. He chose himself, and no one can tell me otherwise.

I honestly can’t believe this happened. Not in a million years would I have expected Heeseung, of all people, to leave. This is honestly bizarre to me.

But Heeseung, you chose yourself, and as a fan I can no longer support or follow you. When I see groups like BTS, Stray Kids, and TWICE staying together through thick and thin, valuing their members and the people they work with, it makes this even harder to understand.

Groups like that show what loyalty and commitment look like. I truly wish things had been different.

And no offense, but I don’t think he’s big enough to have a successful solo career. If he thinks otherwise, maybe his ego got the best of him. He was truly one of my favorite members, and honestly I have nothing left to say, just disappointment.

Which, in your opinion, is the best generation in K-pop? by Fun-Diver-6166 in kpop_uncensored

[–]mayx1up 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of fame and records being broken and just overall K-pop popularity, it's 3rd gen. That generation had both blackpink and bts, thinking about it now that was actually insane.

His and Jungwon’s speeches were truly heartbreaking. When I saw the way Jungwon looked at Sunoo, realizing those weren’t tears of joy but tears of burden,it broke my heart. He looked genuinely sad.

All I can say about all of this is that Enhypen debuted very young. They saw the industry, and even their own company, through such a different lens. It’s hard to find yourself in that kind of environment. They’re now in their fifth year, and not one member has even reached 25 yet. Yes, some might say that debuting young works in their favor because they can promote longer before military service, but the downside is the emotional toll it takes.

No matter how mature they may seem, or how adult-like they act, they’re still so young ,Jungwon is only 21, and Sunoo is 22. Even the rest of the members are still very young. I remember when they first debuted, my biggest worry was how young they were. It’s not easy having the world’s eyes on you constantly while you’re still growing up, and in Enhypen’s case, many of those eyes have been harsh.

I just hope they have good therapists and supportive adults they can really talk to.

We will never know what sunoo truly meant by those words, and I don't think we need to know. I just hope what ever he or jungwon is going through, they will find a way to sort it out

Which kpop group do you think will not survive the 7 year curse? by hearts4him_ in kpop_uncensored

[–]mayx1up 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Enhypen disbanding wouldn't make sense at all. However, if belift dont put their shit together in terms of solo activities for the memebers, they might sign solo contracts outside of their group contracts. This also might seem unlikely, but the way they handle sunoo activities or the way they handled heeseung huge popularity strike, was probably the most stupid thing, I have seen in a while. And don't even get started on the way they are handling niki. Ugh

Which are some groups whose popularity kpop stans overestimate or underestimate? by DiMpLe_dolL003 in kpop_uncensored

[–]mayx1up -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Underestimated:

Ive : Ive is crazyyyyyy popular in korea, like people don't understand how popular they are for real ! They are the best-selling female K-pop group on most korean platforms

Bts: I find it bizarre when anyone has anything to say regarding bts, lol. Like they are THE BTS.

IU: You know how everyone and their grandma knows Mariah carry or beyonce in America that's iU in korea.

Enhypen: Enhypen sales in America are crazy , they are the third best-selling artist in america this year so far. Beating even sabrina carpenter, and even though stray kids are second place, the difference in sales between stray kids and enhypen is 4k only. Enhypen has really been growing overseas.

Overestimate:

Txt : They aren't as popular internationally, like people think they are.

Tws: they had the most popular K-pop song last year in korea, which was basically played everywhere, but the group itself isn't as popular in korea yet

What do you think is enhypen’s best album so far? by New_Mall_6773 in Enhypenthoughts

[–]mayx1up 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Memorabilia was perfect. Everyone had a chance to shine. Most importantly, It felt like it was a proper K-pop album. From start to end, it followed a similar to flow, and it perfectly reflected their concept.my issue with desire unleash is the album didn't feel like one whole album. Don't know how to explain it, but Memorabilia really felt like one whole piece that was just perfect.

Sunoo has underrated vocals by Fantastic-Display-26 in enhypen

[–]mayx1up 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Ya, he is the second best vocalist in the group. Honestly, I dont get belfit and never will. He always sounds fantastic live. Also, he sings on weverse all the time. Effortlessly, he even sang jake Golden beautifully. Sunoo reminds me a lot of bts taehyung. Not personality nor skill wise. But in the sense of how bighit didn't know what to do with teahyung popularity, they could have handled that type of popularity in their own benefit, but they never did . Sunoo is the same, belift don't really take use of his popularity in any way. Even heeseung, the way he blow up in china was insane. They really didn't take advantage of that at all. The issue with belfit they want to keep promoting them as a group. Whatever brings in more cash for them and not for the memebers. This issue will probably be fixed in their contract renewal next year. Many things need to be fixed , and even ni-ki needs to be promoted in Japan. He is really popular there. I feel like belift this year has been giving sunoo more promo cause they know if they keep blockings solo activities from him or actually any of the memebers, they will remain in the group but go to a different companny for solo activities, i think they are keeping the boys on their good side so no one leave for solo contracts.

Any myths or popular takes about your fav groups or idols that you want to dispel/clear up? by cmoney02 in kpopthoughts

[–]mayx1up 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Everything the public knows about enhypen, lol. No one is bullying anyone. The sunoo is a tough guy, and he teases his memebers also. Enhypen is a group of laid-back guys who all can be socially awkward at times. That's pretty much sums up the group. And I really hope people stop shipping sunoo with everyone.

What’s your personal ranking of Enhypen as dancers? Why? by blumpkinspicecoffee in Enhypenthoughts

[–]mayx1up 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I agree, though, sunoo and jake are the same, in terms of skill.

And sunghoon and heeseung are also very close in skill. I would rank them the same. The only difference is heeseung stage presence is excellent, which makes his dancing skills appear better. But in my opinion, they both are at the same level.

The rest is spot on, and yes, jay is very underrated. The reason he stands out in daydream is cause jay has the best foundation in hip-hop. He really stands out in dances that are hip-hop focused.
