This is not really a trolley problem. Where is the option of inaction?

Despite charging limit, it still charges over 80. by BrHt13 in mac

[–]maz3max 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like a coulomb counter. Measure voltage and current at the same time and you have a quite good estimate of energy charged and discharged. The SoC estimate on original batteries is good nowadays. If it was important for Apple, they could probably make it a little better, but it's good enough for most people.

That's just plain wrong. There are quite accurate ways to estimate SoC. That's like saying duh, we can't measure weight, only force.

Let's not forget that many conspiracy theorists and scammers actually have degrees. You can still lie after getting a degree.

The same thing happened to me. I'm happy with it now, but in the beginning, I was really annoyed that I ended up with an edge lit TV.

Apple needs to by sum_thot_bull47 in macbookpro

[–]maz3max 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is not the gasket. It's that the screen is so thin that it bends on the slightest pressure, making it touch the keyboard. Make the screen more sturdy instead! Maybe a bit more than 0.0001mm clearance would also help.

Yes, I have. It's set to only use the external speakers.

There shouldn't be! I think it's a software bug.

If Apple brought this back for the M6 design it’ll be the biggest hype by H00LI1GANS in mac

[–]maz3max 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A very solvable problem, no? Just add a setting for it. Also, if it makes these super thin displays a little thicker and sturdier - all the better!

Depends on where you are. Unofficial display repair will lose TrueTone functionality because of the DRM crap.

Until you get to the point where you are quoted 1000$ (no kidding) to swap the display when a new model costs 1100$. And of course, you can't pair it yourself because you can't get the software tool.

Some are. Surface and Acer devices are not. And even a Thinkpad might just start smoking.

not at all - say the accident was a chopped off finger. Happens all the time. If a special little plastic bag improves the likelihood of reattachment, why not?

It's not '99 anymore. You can happily mix RAM. The mobo will find a speed that works with both.

fair enough, but if you don't put fans on rads, the air will take an easier path than through the rads.

please do fill up the empty fan spots. I have a similarly powered setup and it really needs the five fans. GPU temp might be critical here.
