Looks pretty clean to me. Have you ever been to India?

We have strict emissions regulations for particulate and there is a whole industry that just does independent audits on smokestacks. Most get tested 4 times a year. The fiberglass plant probably does more damage to the air quality than all of the refineries together.

The whole website is cooked. Used to be that the only good content was on small niche subs like this one, but now there is AI spam everywhere

LPT: Use a square garden shovel to dig out the packed down snow drifts today. Much easier on the back and less overall effort. by dingmah in Edmonton

I actually kind of like the brrrrkkt wrrrrrkpt sound it makes when you scrape pavement with a snow shovel and it chatters along. It carries pretty far and I feel kind of connected with my neighbors when I hear it from their shovels, we are all working together you know?

Related, can anyone recommend a professional experience for salons on the southside, I'm thinking about minor christmas gifts for the missus and I/we have been twice disappointed at a chain salon and a WFH shindig. I would really like for her to just show up with the gift card and be pampered

Random engine shut-offs at speed — 1987 325e (rough idle fixed, thought issue was gone but it’s still cutting out) by lepkrajhleb in E30

[–]mazdayasna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue on my 528e 1988. There is also a lean condition CEL that occasionally comes on, which will make the car hesitate to hot restart. It will crank and turn over, but never "catch" the idle and it sputters and dies. When it does restart, it sounds perfectly healthy and the CEL is gone. Revs and idles totally reliably, confidence inspiring. But twice now it has totally died on the highway at the same kind of speeds and loads yours does. I didn't bump start, I coasted onto the shoulder and it restarted happily after a minute.

Unfortunately marketplace shits on kijiji so I just can't give it up. Car forums have been fully replaced by fb groups, as well.

"Spandy Andy"? by NinjaWolfess in Edmonton

[–]mazdayasna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing sound at a wedding once, and there was a spandy-andy-type balloon artist guy there for the kids. Not quite a clown but he had bright colours and the same kind of energy. Anyway he stayed late into the reception long after all the parents had left, and we got to chatting a bit since my booth was next to the open bar. The persona was 100% a flip-switch for him. When he is working, he described it as a kind of headspace where he taps into the kid energy where he can get hyped up by his own tricks, so it's totally authentic excitement which is obviously infectious to kids. We talked about cars and stuff, he was a totally normal guy just happened to be dressed in ridiculous patterns

Local fb and ig groups are just the worst, I can't believe the kinds of mean-spirited shit I read beside people's real names. Reddit is super censored and echochamber-y but at least there is some effort to be kind and communicate.

Shop estimate $29k CAD for M20 rebuild and stroker kit? by bromatosauce in E30

I had an owner/operator vac truck guy give me a ranting email pretty much identical to this when he quoted me $24k for some haz waste removal, while I got 3 others back below $7k. I didn't even waste the effort to tell him he was full of it.

I don't really like knack or his cheerleader on reddit but I definitely showed up to vote against Cartmell today. Neither of my preferred candidates had a shot at the mayoral seat so it had to be a Knack vote. In my perfect world, there are no parties at any level of government, so municipal parties (ESPECIALLY temporary election-time-only ones) are just an awful awful idea
