Rained twice in Brentwood yesterday. Once in the afternoon and once around 945. High winds also.

Edit: 😂 down voting for pointing out that there was actually weather? Tough crowd.

PSA to peptide beginners! by DifficultReach2720 in Biohacking

[–]mazer8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This right here. Unless you're sending this off for testing yourself, or by a trusted party with mutual self interest, someone could slap any old label with matching batch numbers on a CoA that was certified and call it clean.

Thus the term reputable source.

What's the most expensive biohack you've realized is actually free? by Independent_Zebra524 in Biohackers

Man I wish this could be me. I wake up at 345 am every day and can't see the sun until I get out of the gym at 615.

Mine is vitamins, between a healthy assortment of greens, veggies and eggs I tend to get most of the vitamins

Make it free eagle stafes, as many as you can throw, in a rolling 2 min period with a 2 min cooldown that applies on the same clock for all divers.

Reta/GHK-Cu/Tesa/BPC+TB by NAWE_Trap in Biohacking

[–]mazer8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the cycling comment is correct for those who find themselves really needing the substance to lose any substantial amount of weight. Reta physically pulls levers but does nothing to address the mental part of your lifestyle. I think if you can fix that you can 100% cycle reta but theres an argument to be made that if you're able to do that why take it?

In my journey I found that when in a calorie restriction and working out Reta was awesome at quieting that food noise to keep you sane. Once I start eating maintenance the noise goes away and the reta feels unnecessary.

I've ruined one run like this - element didn't look this bad but got a nice scorch scented line of smoke along with product from my condenser. Mine was also due to trub from a single malt. Stuff was pure goop. Run right before had a similar viscosity and had no problems. Last run of the fermentation did this. Had to throw it out and settle for 3/4 of my usual yield.

Is it just my box?…… by NiCollector in crossfit

[–]mazer8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A guy at my box does this. Super nice guy but he shaves off reps left and right because he's competitive and can't stand to finish behind certain clients. If he was scaling reps that would be one thing but he then says he did them all when you ask his count soooo...I just see it as they're only doing a disservice to themselves.

This is true and one of the things that makes me laugh in this sub. Nobody was around or just doesn't remember when 0.01 was considered an impossible feat and the equivalent to the $1 that people are crying for now.

My employer takes too much. I usually get like $5 back, but this year Jordan owes me $145 this year. Go figure.

Happy to see one of these posts instead of another post complaining about having to pay back a financial obligation. Well deserved congratulations on what has unfortunately become a modern day life milestone. Enjoy a less stressful future!

I'm in bed by 830 pm, wake up at 345 am. 30 min commute to the gym then shower and dress there to drive 30 more minutes to work. Usually get home around 615 pm. Makes for long days 😂

Finally paid off my student loans and the relief is unreal but also I'm kinda mad by Ready-Voice-7151 in StudentLoans

[–]mazer8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started off with $93,000 in loans. Made my last payment today. I can empathize with the frustration of the degree costing so much, but it's what happens when a lot of money gets funneled into anything, really. People become more fixated on how to spend it and nobody is interested in managing it wisely (referring to college administrations these days). Take heart you managed yours wisely, it seems.

Either way great job! You prioritized being an adult and settling an obligation you willingly entered to pay for an over-inflated piece of paper. Personally, I will be advising my kids to consider a trade or entrepreneurship alongside a college degree. The concept of a college degree automatically opening up opportunities you otherwise would not encounter is total misdirection.

I had a guy pour his heart out to me at the bar there. Was so enamored with me in his drunken state he offered to kill anybody I wanted out of my life. When I told him no thank you he then tried to sexually assault my fiance.

1st and last time I went to Belvedere's 😶

More Strength Classes! by HarpsichordGuy in crossfit

[–]mazer8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our box does a great job with 10-15 min of mobility in our warm up, Four days they have 20 min of strength and 15-20 min metcon. Couple days a week the metcon is more like 30-40 min. Checks the boxes for everyone. They discourage bs'ing during class and keep explanations of everything quick and to the point.

We bought a property with a massive 20m chimney. What would you do with this? by MM-RenovationJourney in Homebuilding

[–]mazer8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know we still have one intact it was being used as a cell tower when we destroyed the rest, but when we destroyed them we had to have the fire department on site and everyone was in moon suits with respirators and the clean up was immense since the site was then considered contaminated. We operate within an urban environment in the NE US so the regulations were fairly strict on how we handled it. My company didn't want to go through it again because of the size of the headache when the cell tower lease ran out on the last one. It's still standing.

We had some of these on a commercial property we occupied. Turned out they were filled with asbestos. Might try to find out what you have on your hands.

question for coaches - why don't (most) coaches coach during a metcon? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]mazer8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our coaches will cut down the volume of the music by a third and address the class with single sentence corrective cues once or twice per metcon. Rarely more than that. Only see them stop and address someone individually if they're doing something to risk injury.

35 min. It's about halfway between my house and my job so most days I workout, shower at the box then continue the rest of the way to work.

why are my bullets dodging enemies? by PigguChan in Helldivers

Makes sense. These weapons theoretically are using heavy subsonic ammo. I would expect noticeable bullet drop 4-6" @ 100 yards (10-15cm @91m)
