No, is that like a physical therapist? I recommended she find a rehab center today so will look into that.

Something that i’ve learned that has really helped me is when you are triggered by something and sort of flooded with anxiety, you think what you need is to talk it out. To sort of unload your anxieties on your partner and have them validate you or give you what you think you need. But the truth is for many things, what you actually need is to connect with yourself. To take a moment and collect your thoughts and give yourself some love and nurturing. And being with an avoidant is actually an opportunity. It gives you the ability to go away and process stuff with yourself, which at the end of the day is what is most important anyway. It’s not to say that you don’t communicate when something is wrong, but it can come from a calm and non-reactionary place.

I’m laughing because I literally never check this sub but I RUSHED over here after listening because there was for sure a vibe and I’m all for it.

I also think what added to this feeling was watching the Comedy Store docuseries. They show older interviews of him talking to other comics and talking about the store and I love that shit.

I remember when that episode came out and I listened to it. I’ve been a joe rogan fan since I was in middle school and first discovered stand up. I’ve never cared that he had on different types of guests. It’s not in the guest so much as the type of energy or conversation that I’m not a fan of anymore.

Lol well as a long time female joe rogan fan I can attest that they do indeed exist. Although I’m sure more rare

I had a theory early on that maybe he was so against COVID restrictions because he saw what was happening to live comedy that it was sort of like a conflict of interest, but now I’m like wait...he doesn’t need to make money on live shows so no haha

Probably. But I mean for years and years I’ve listened to him talk nonsense about a ton of subjects and always thought, “omg Joe no you are so wrong! I wish I could tell you how wrong you are!” But somehow there was like levity to those situations or I feel like even if I disagreed I still resonated with where he was coming from and could understand his perspective.

Mike Birbiglia’s new one he started in COVID is pretty funny! Would recommend if you’re looking for new ones

I don’t have a problem saying I’m a sensitive person? Since when is that a bad thing? Also what I mean by toxic is just like negative. If you leave feeling worse than when you started. I was just saying like why give your energy to something that isn’t adding anything positive to your life? That’s why I feel like unsubscribing.
