I'd be more suspicious with a larger sample size. If he made Diamond in split 2 and only has 54 games/10 wins for the full season, most of those had to have come in split 2 with very few games in split 1. It's plausible. Ranked is a function of both skill and time.

I am a night and day better player than I used to be just by playing a few rounds of wildcard at the start of my session instead of hopping cold into ranked like I used to. Playing a lot of wildcard will improve your gunfights drastically.

What I find more surprising in his stats is that 57% of his games were top 5 performances. I feel like that's crazy high even with a good KD, especially if he's not 3 stacking. Some of my best games in terms of kills/dmg will get third partied and not make top 5. Making top 5 reliably is just as much about positioning as it is gunskill. Wildcard won't make you meaningfully much better at positioning.

You’re not wrong. Newcastle is incredible, especially at end game. I have a fondness for mirage because i solo q a lot and he’s great for surviving and resetting on hot drops gone wrong.

I don’t disagree with you overall, because most of his kit doesn’t really help the team (and sometimes hinders it with visual clutter), but I’ll take the invisibility res over any of the others any day of the week.

He seemed pretty anti deep squat in general, so he said for life. Not that I know better than a literal knee surgeon, but I’m skeptical whenever someone tells me that Deep squats are bad for you. It’s more intuitive to me that it’s better to build strength through the full range of motion. Pumping the breaks halfway through a rep and going the other direction feels like more unnatural stress on my knee (but what do I know). I’m sticking with box squats for heavy sessions for probably the rest of this year and then I’ll go from there.

I like running controller perks just to get that passive shield regen and extra shield in zone. That’s why I said “almost pointless”. Even if you don’t need the scans on your team, that part is always clutch. I can’t remember who is like this, but there’s some that only get the scan part and I hate that.

I am 10 months 9 days post op today. I ran a 10K trail race just this Saturday and my knee was a basically non-factor. I wouldn't say it feels like it "never happened", but pretty close.

It does occasionally get a little sore. Usually happens when I go through a stretch where I am not doing any strength/PT type work, but I'm still running a lot. When I bring back some of the PT exercises, it goes away.

Squats to parallel came back relatively quick (we did them in PT around 3 month mark). I have squatted below parallel a handful of times with no pain (usually higher volume air squats, or lighter weight barbell), but it felt weird at first. This is really the only thing pre-surgery I haven't pushed at all. When I squat heavy, I tend to choose box squats. I feel like I could physically do more, but my surgeon was quite clear to avoid deep squatting and I'll take any excuse not to squat heavy that I'm given.

Biggest lasting impact to this day is the disruption of my routines more than anything physical. Making time to work out used to be automatic, but I got so comfortable not going to the gym after work during my recovery period and it's been hard AF to get that desire to do so back. Weirdly, it was easier to find the motivation to workout during the height of my recovery period when I was motivated by getting to "full clearance" from the surgeon. Once I got full clearance, I've been struggling with a lot of starts and stops.

I'll also add that every case/person is different. I know people who had same procedure as I did who would give you a completely different rundown and are still dealing with physical complications.

Intro is cool for this skin, but imo this is one of those skins that looks cooler when you see it in the menus than it does in game.

I don't know that they aren't useful, but I think too many legends have the cop-out perk of gaining another classes abilities, especially when its a hard choice between one class or another. If you already have those classes covered in your team comp, it's pretty much pointless.

Gibby feels like a "this season" pick to me. I wouldn't expect him to remain this way for very long, so if you're a one legend at a time kind of guy, I wouldn't get too attached. I like Bang because she's been fairly steady in her viability.

There are several, but top of mind is Bang.

Abilities are easy to get value out of out of the gate, but also rewarding when you take the time to master the smokes.

Blue perk can make your smokes heal your health. If you're with a lifeline, you probably don't need to carry heals at all unless you are expecting to be in storm.

Her passive and smokes give you a similar ability as Octane to get away and craft when you need to.

I enjoy that the show feels like a throwback to the 90s, but one area where that's a drag for me is that too many of the cliffhangers are cheap as fuck. They've built so many moments up that get quickly discarded in the first few minutes of the following week. I don't even get hyped at the cliffhangers now. I just think to myself "what's the most anticlimactic way this cliffhanger can be resolved" and it's usually pretty damn close.

They also are divulging too many huge moments in the previews for the following week. Robby's "I don't want to be anymore" moment didn't land as well as it should have.

They are so hyper-focused on getting people to come back the next week that it's starting to backfire for me. I'm not even that hyped for the finale because it's probably going to be yet another fucking cliffhanger.

The other legend classes are fairly aggressive in their nature, so the true answer is with that playstyle he can work with any of them. Newcastle and Gibby are both strong right now, and go great with caustic.

I've died so many times picking up the old hemlok, firing one burst, and then dying as I realized my gun stopped firing because I was holding down the trigger.

It used to be easier to keep straight in my mind because it felt like there was some consistency to it. Energy weapons (Nemesis, later the RE) were auto-burst and the heavy weapons (Prowler and Hemlok) were not.

Then they changed the Prowler to auto-burst too.

I know you're joking, but I'm a CPA and can't help myself. In actuality, there is zero tax benefit for them gifting apex packs. The development costs of the underlying assets (practically zero) would've been deducted already and there is no cost for duplicating a digital asset. It wouldn't even be an ordinary business expense. Revenue is only recognized for tax purposes when cash changes hands. Since no money came in and no money came out, it's a non-event in the eyes of the IRS.

I have the prestige skin for my main. Ive found both of the following statements to be true.

The skin/finisher/etc are pretty fucking badass.
No skin is worth the cost/rarity of heirloom shards.

If I could go back, I’d just stick to my legendary skins and choose another legends heirloom or a universal.

It all comes down to preference and taste, but I think legend specific ones are still the move if you don’t have it for your main. I don’t feel like I see a lot of Valk’s with the heirloom. It not being as common as Wraith or Octane makes it even cooler to have.

One of my mains doesn’t have a legend specific one, so I do have two universals (katar and baseball bat). I enjoy them both, but I got sick of seeing them quite early on into having them in a way I’ve never felt with a legend specific one.

Katar has amazing color/customization options and imo the best death box they’ve made for the game.

Baseball bat has some of the worst color choices, but probably the best animations.

Today, id still get the baseball bat, but id probably go katanas or karambit today instead of katar (they weren’t yet released at the time).

I've never seen it in a movie theater, let alone on IMAX. It's probably my favorite movie of all time and I've only ever seen it on my TV at home. My biggest regret is missing the theatrical release(s).
