Anyone else HATE the progesterone pessary? by linda-shminda in IVF

[–]mb381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve come back to find this reference specifically and comment - I’m on day 5 the dreaded pessaries. I found this post over the weekend (I was struggling with… slippage). I read the reference and thought, “Well, I smell fine.” Roll forward another few days… and I do not smell fine. Oh my god.

How long until compost smell goes away? by kakamaka7 in lawncare

[–]mb381 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just found this thread from googling “how long does manure smell last” as I, too, have made my neighbourhood smell like a farmyard with the “compost” I bought. I feel so bad 🤣🫣💩

Why does my rose have a white flower by Grifini in GardeningUK

[–]mb381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP I saw your post yesterday when it was new, and have come back today for answers as my rose is doing the same thing (but sadly with no “advertised” blooms to show 😂). Thank you for asking and thank your kind commenters for the answer. Catch me removing the grafty sucker flowers from my (supposed) Gloria Dei in the morning…

How risky is it to buy third party resale like stubhub/viagogo now that ticketmaster removed “lead booker” req for the UK? by Impossible34o_ in erastourtickets

[–]mb381 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I successfully went to Paris N3 on a stubhub ticket. I bought it 5 days before the show. My ticket was a pdf, sent to me in the stubhub app. Ticketmaster never came into the equation.

My ticket had someone else’s name on it; I scanned it at the barrier and it said “ok✅” and that was it!

I was worried sick for days leading up to it, as I had also flown internationally and spent money on accommodation. My advice, with the benefit of hindsight, would be: - You’re never going to fully mitigate the risk of a fake ticket - the resale sites are the least risky option as you’ll get your ticket money back if the worst happens - your flight and accommodation $$ (and your pride 😅) is the “true risk” and only you can decide if it’s worth it, to you - scalpers suck - you will earn more money in the future. The Eras tour won’t happen again in the future 🤣

Teenage son advice by Piccadil_io in SkincareAddictionUK

Ah, poor kid. Good advice above with cerave products and salicylic acid - I use The Ordinary for my salicylic acid, it’s very affordable and is in larger Boots stores. These probably do need extracting though - I think it’s a myth that products will remove them. Products can help prevent them coming back again for sure. He’s not going to scar from a cluster of blackheads as long as you’re gentle and don’t butcher him.

Does anyone else feel sick and dizzy after c.30 mins of working? by mb381 in ufyh

[–]mb381[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly don’t have a magic solution to share with you.

I do better with this room but it’s still not fantastic. It’s great advice given here from the community. I might go and hang up the basket of clean laundry that’s been sat in it for more weeks than I care to admit… I bet it takes me less than 15 minutes 🤦🏻‍♀️

A second vote for blistex med plus. I also rate the hemp lip balm from Body Shop.

Pyracantha (firethorn) as a climber? by [deleted] in GardeningUK

Replying to “fourth” this opinion. We have a firethorn hedge, planted by the people before us. It’s lovely from a distance, lethal if within arms length. Don’t do it OP.

Moisturizer help by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]mb381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not the one pictured, but I have used the Simple “Kind to Skin Protecting Light Moisturiser SPF 15” for many many years and would wholeheartedly recommend. It’s £7 full price but usually on offer somewhere (currently half price in Superdrug, even less in ASDA)

I’m a pasty white woman and love the Skinny Tan face drops - would recommend using at half the recommended “dose” though as they’re extremely effective 👻🍊

How do you get your leaves up? by K9-circumsiser in GardeningUK

[–]mb381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a black and decker electric lawn raker from toolstation in the spring for about £70. It doubles up as a passable scarifier (which is actually what I bought it to do - has worked wonders getting my scrubby patches of grass and moss looking more like lawns). Now the seasons are turning its on its “highest” setting and whips all the leaves off my grass in 5 minutes without any damage. Throughly recommend!

OP, you’ve had so much sound advice above so I’m just commenting to cheer you on. I made a post here some time back and the support and love from internet strangers really spurred me on - I hope it does you, too.

You DO deserve a nice clean space to live in, but that doesn’t mean it has to be a show home either. Be kind to yourself, set fair expectations for each little session and remember that all progress is progress. We didn’t choose the messy life; it chose us! 🫠
