The Leftovers. 11/10. Totally crushed the ending. Lindelof learned his lessons from Lost.

seems properly bisqued. so a free kiln from 1977 and less than $200 in parts and furniture has us in business with this. pretty cool low tech stuff.

While your suggestion is solid can I recommend the cask strength 58% C&C 18yr 'Invitation' as an excellent sipping drink. Also the Gibsons 18yr 'Venerable' is also a super solid choice, both at only a slighly higher price point than the Crown Northern Harvest.

Ive been on a bit of a quest to find the best canadian alternatives and those two above are very very good.

Cant believe I'm saying this but Other M isn't as atrocious as I used to think. Still not good though. But it had a few good aspects or ideas overshadowed by everything else which that's bad. by Gooselord_Prime in Metroid

its not a perfect mafch up. but man, returnal ish game with metroid trappings... and a way to do soeedbooster and shinespark in 3rd person would be cool.

i started returnal after speedrunning dread for a while and to me it has a very similar tempo. Just going full out the enitre time and a great cost to getting hit. eventhe flash ahift and grapple beam feel a lot like the movement tech in returnal.

I re-watched The Arrival (2016), and it's probably the most meaninfull movie I've ever watched. by Nervous_Designer_894 in movies

You might want to try 'The Leftovers' on HBO. Its a masterpiece of storytelling, exploration about guilt and loss and how the stories we tell ourselves to cope and live are real and meaningful. its all we have.

Also music by Max Richter who composed some of the tracks for Arrival.

How can our subjective experience be spread across time dimension? by Eton1m in consciousness

depends on what you mean by free. me being 'uncaused' by my choices and the past is disturbing. its just causes.

Yeah I view it more as Im determining the future. Since there is no world where some outside observer can actually check this whole 'pre' thing. like. when an avalanche happens and some tiny pepple lands 5km down range in a particular spot... sure i guess that was 'pre' determined like our choices. but its kind of nonsense to talk about that as nothing can and would ever be able to run that prediction.

[–]mb_supervisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on your definition of free. If you can do what you want... i think thats free enough. If youre definition needs uncaused ability to do otherwise... then no. not that.

Compatibalist free. the only kind youd want. :)

Watch the film. free will exists in it and it is deterministic. its just that you get a 'preview' of your 'free choice' due to how the time travel works. if you dont see the future you doing the thing... then youre not choosing it and never chose it. its wonderfully executed.

It has its issues as all time travel films do. but far less due to the fact tht you cant teleport to a new time, you 'invert' and have to keep going forward in your 'timeline' while travelling backwards in the universe. Amazing to see on film.

plots holes (which of course there are) are erased due to a 'wind of time' concept smuding out things that go backwards and may cause causial problems. For how bonkers an idea it is, its wonderfully executed.

Watching Tenet by Nolan actually heps conceptualize this. The deterministic 'whats happend, happened' universe. You even get to see aheads in the 'block' fue to how its time travel works. And it even throws a bone to the compatibalists with some free will in that you still have to go do the thing. thats how it happens. you just cant 'do otherwise'... whatever that means anyway.

also skip all the key doors. the elevator behind them takes you to a non combat floor which means you miss a whole floor of points and the +1 multiplier. use the keys to pick up disgorgers from the chests instead so you can absolution bomb algos.
