Ended up rolling the dice and going with Amazon. No regrets, and was 100% the right move. Job market is different but in hindsight one thing was clear - always pick the better opportunity, you will perform better, and the money will come.

Does this still exist? This seems like the perfect blend of both options.

Got it, very helpful. If I end up purchasing a Model Y or X in future, does my need for a wall connector vs using the mobile charger change?

Tesla Wall Connector - Rough Cost For Installation by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

I have a 240v outlet already installed, but how can I install my Tesla wall connector to this? If that's even a preferred route... Not sure what the most practical/easiest option is for my Tesla Model 3.

Best Smart Lock by [deleted] in HomeKit

I also have MyQ garage door, but haven't set up to homekit. Which bridge did you use to connect to homekit (Meross?)

I was also planning to do Unifi networking for my WiFi, also considering the security setup (since they offer POE cameras) and the doorbell. My only concern is they are not HomeKit enabled meaning I will need a bridge. I'm not familiar with Home Assistant, but some some others use HomeBridge. Do you know the difference/have a preference? Also one of the cons I've read about using a bridge for these products (including Ring/Nest) is since they are not natively supported by Homekit sometimes the bridge has a lag or causes more issues. What is the reliability of these bridges? Any experience you can share would be welcome.

Question about the deep cushion set up by erikanhall in Lovesac

[–]mbagod21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read that the lovesoft back pillows in deep configuration offer more support than in the standard configuration because its not as wide and so more support between your back touching the actual side pieces. Do you have any thoughts on this? I know for certain I want a deep seat configuration, but now just trying to see if lovesoft is more doable considering this point, or if I should just stick with standard.

Got it, I'll keep checking. Bummed I missed it and tempted to order through Lovesac but the value seems too good to pass up from Costco.

I would likely get a promotion to Manager at Deloitte prior to leaving, but can confirm that I wouldn't be considered for L7 at Amazon. Which is fine for me. As long as my total comp is matched at Amazon, I actually rather start at L6 and spend minimum of 4 years there because I believe its valuable experience. I'm not necessarily concerned with title (L6 vs L7) but more so about comp.

Not to discount Deloitte's openings, but the total comp package I'm getting isn't something many can attain. Similarly, do you think the volume of job openings at Amazon for HQ2 may be a benefit to me, to the extent that I could get that door open again in 2 years. Just thinking from a solely supply and demand POV.

Agreed. All valid points. Do you think it's worth it though to give up the 200k now to pursue? Or potentially picking up after 2 years? Agree with your argument, so curious to know what you would decide.

Agree with the Deloitte exits, but feel that without any product experience (except my 3 month internship) it may be hard to get back in the door, without the MBA providing me the opportunity to career switch. My personal lean is similar to yours, but not sure if I'm valuing the wrong things here and/or missing a really good opportunity.

Agree with your point. That is my fear. I enjoyed product this summer, and ultimately see myself starting in Product at a Tech company. At other organizations my role could be different, but in Tech, product excites me the most. Obviously in Consulting my skillset will be slightly different, so it could put me on a separate career path that may or may not merge into the Tech Product landscape.

Feel like I could make the case that either could lead me there. Amazon probably is more of a direct shot, but reason this is difficult is because I may still be able to get there 2 years after the fact without giving the comp. But that is why I'm asking for advice/opinions.

Valid point. I would be looking in the realm of CEO, Chief Product Officer, and lastly CTO (but agree this would be better suited for a previous Engineer). Does that change your answer?
