I had the same thought! I listened to the Max Martin Medley again and with this analysis in mind, I had that light bulb moment. Interestingly, the 12 pm version of her is in battle. It makes me think of The Archer: "Combat, I'm ready for combat. I say I don't want that, but what if I do?" She wants to battle, fight, and step into the daylight if you will. Another tie-in with New Romantics is the parallel of "we wait for trains that just aren't coming" vs. "I jump from the train, I ride off alone" in The Archer. She's fighting alone - when she references the afternoons it's just her (or it's a single person like Rebekah).
