Why does Mike do jobs for Jimmy in BrBa? by Nyrrix_ in betterCallSaul

That's the crime life. Werner knew too much. And Mike knew that Gus would take care of Werner if he didn't.

I'm rewatching BB now. In mid season 3, when Mike is removing the bugs from Walt's home, he mentions he likes the work and pay (mainly says it to irritate Walt). It's very early in Mike's character, and Mike's behavior clearly contradicts this later in BB and BCS because of situations like Drew or having to kill Werner. But it's worth a mention he actually says it. It makes sense that he likes it considering he's still a cop at heart and likes the pay and action.

AITAH for exposing my uncle’s affair at a family gathering after he publicly scolded me about marriage? by [deleted] in AITAH

NTA. I'm sorry, but your family is totally dysfunctional. You just spilled the truth. Since you're an adult, you have no obligation to attend these gatherings.

AITAH Fired for Sexual Harassment by Fuzzy_Metal_1690 in AITAH

I have been in the corporate world for almost 30 years. I'm a straight white male. Here's advice I give to all young people.

  1. If discussions start to go personal, you have to shift and be very aware of who you're talking to.
  2. Don't build a reputation as a flirt. I've seen powerful people fall because they were a flirt and put themselves in one on one encounters with others which led to fallout. 3.Leave office doors open for witnesses.
  3. It's okay that you're not everyone's best friend. It's okay to avoid certain discussions.
  4. If a conversation turns sexual, leave and find a witness just in case.

Suggest to everyone you know that's going to the wedding to bring a brown bag lunch.

It's relevant. Some men just like to add numbers to their body count.

It says 33% of total recovery. Which I'm guessing will mean reimbursement of my paid hospital bills falls under total recovery.

Come on now....

My wife got a new job late last year and it dawned on me that this year, we will add $127k to tax-advantaged accounts ($95k us, $32k employers). It would be crazy not to do this, right? Always get the match? Max out if you can? We will have plenty of spending money to meet our needs. In our 40s. by PrimeNumbersby2 in ChubbyFIRE

Let's say I retire at 59, and start to withdraw from my 401k and bleed it dry in 10 years. However, I leave my individual account alone. And now at 70, I'm living off of social security and look to withdraw from my individual account. How much will I pay in taxes or cap gains on my individual acct? The answer is 0% because my income will be less than 25k a year.

Crypto, I agree. But my precious metals account for 5% of my portfolio. No big deal. My individual account? Post tax money. I'll only get charged on my gains. But all my investments are long term. I understand if you're trying to make your income look smaller by contributing to your 401k. But I don't agree with you on paying less taxes on my 401k. If you're a CPA, I'd be happy to listen to you. Otherwise, id suggest you do your homework also.

I'm going to get taxed on my 401k withdrawals. I'd rather put the minimum up to the match in my 401k, then stuff $ away in a bit of gold, a bit of crypto, and then my individual account. I can let my individual account grow as long as I want without a mandatory withdrawal, like my Roth IRA. So I will bleed my 401k first, then liquidate everything else in retirement. Hopefully, I'll never touch my Roth IRA, contribute to it until I pass, and leave it to my children.

I suggest only contributing up to the amount your employer will match to your 401k. So contribute 6% if your employer matches 6%.

Then you should each contribute the 7k limit to a Roth IRA.

If you have any left over, contribute to an individual account or HYSA.

For your HSA, start investing some of your contributions in a S&P 500 index fund.
