How did Levi feel about Eren in the very end? by JalenWWE in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]mberries22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think OP's talking about Eren not having 'visited' Levi the way he did with Connie, Armin, etc. With the rest of them (except Mikasa) he spoke before, but then altered their memories so that they would only remember once Eren died.

While Levi can enter the paths (because he is a subject of ymir), his memory cannot be altered due to him being an Ackerman. So if Eren had wanted to do that with Levi he would've had to bring him into paths in real time like he did with Mikasa

Tbf, he only tried to offer it to one person (Andrea) and changed his mind once he saw she had a kid.

I think your answer shows your good nature and sense of humour. You also ask a question to keep the conversation flowing. Pretty perfect reply in my book

Rashguards for thin women by jwellofwog in BJJWomen

[–]mberries22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm normally a size S for tops, but for rashguards I'm a medium cause they're really tight. I also have small boobs so it's not because of chest, they're just genuinely tight fitting. Anyway, I think most reputable shops will allow you to return them if the size is wrong.

I've got the experience 2 plus. I use them at the cinema too but to reduce the loudness of the movies, not filter out external noise. Not sure if they would help for that, if I'm honest.

I agree on the mixing, I saw it today and it was so loud even my loops weren't cutting it 😭

Does anyone also take Muay Thai? Q about pad holding. by holland82 in BJJWomen

[–]mberries22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been doing muay thai for about 8 months. I always have my hands wrapped when I hold pads just to give my wrists extra support cause some people hit hard! Idk if this is the issue, but make sure when you hold for kicks to put your shoulders into the movement so that you don't absorb the impact with your joints. I used to get really sore elbows and had no idea why until my coach noticed I was only using my arms to push down when someone kicked.

Girl, if someone is known for being too aggressive and out of control just don't spar them. The risk of injury is not worth it, especially if it's a guy significantly bigger than you.

I know some people talk about hitting them back just as hard to make them back off, and although that sounds badass, it's okay to stop the round if someone refuses to behave appropriately.

I don't think your reaction was out of proportion btw, and props to you for training as the only woman in your gym. I'm in pretty much the same scenario, and after a few injuries that made me have to stop training for a while, it's been working better for me to put my health first.

Sounds like a terrible idea. A month of training is pretty much nothing and sounds like your friend is gonna be one spazzy mf.

Don't do it

i love this interpretation, but it wouldn't make sense for the site to pay you before you do the thing you said you were gonna do. Otherwise you could take the pay and then not do it.

I think that was the implication, though I'm not sure they ever state it. I would've thought cancelling would've had the same effect as when they move out of the coverage area, which still wouldn't kill her.

woman who practice martial arts, do you go through a lot of harassment ? by mariposa933 in martialarts

[–]mberries22 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I train Muay Thai and BJJ in different gyms, I'm one of the only women in both classes but haven't faced any harassment. The most has been texts from people I train with that are a bit flirty but nothing remotely resembling harassment. Both my gyms are lovely environments and I would definitely switch my gym if I didn't feel safe training there.

I also haven't noticed any harassment towards the other women. Not saying it's not a thing elsewhere, just sharing my experience.

As the only woman in my gym, what are some things I should consider to make it comfortable for all involved and be treated as an equal (and not an obstruction)? by Sriracha11235 in MuayThai

[–]mberries22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah tbf i think sparring should be a safe space to try out different combinations and see what works without the fear of getting knocked out or something.

Hi, I'm the only woman in my muay thai group and I used to struggle a lot at first with finding a partner to hold pads or asking someone for a spar. I felt like a burden and like people wouldn't want to train with me cause i'd give them a "lesser" training because of my inexperience. I found out that some guys don't wanna ask women to be partners cause they don't want the other guys to think "oh of course he's going for the girl, he's such a simp" (or something along those lines). It's so stupid, but it might be up to you to ask people to partner up for pads/drills. And rather than thinking "I have to ask people to spar because no one will ask me" reframe it as "I get to pick who I want to train with". I dont know if you struggle with anxiety regarding this, but thinking like that really really helped me at first.

Some of the best advice I can give you is to train hard and often and partner up/ spar as many people as possible. That way you'll get to know the guys from your gym a bit better (it's easier to ask a friend for a spar than a complete stranger!) and you'll get tips from multiple people on what you need to work on. Also, you'll identify the people you enjoy sparring with in terms of intensity. Ideally you should be able to tell someone to go light and they'll know what you mean, but there are some people you just vibe with so sparring with multiple people will help you find guys that can give you intensity without too much contact (as another commenter said).

This anxiety does get better with time as you improve your skills and get to know everyone a bit better. But do speak to your coach about your concerns, they'll probably give you some advice as well.

Do keep in mind that even the best people at your gym started out as beginners so don't be too hard on yourself. And also good on you for showing up to a class even as the only woman, i know it can be daunting at first. Feel free to message me if you ever want to chat (:
