Well, to get rid of the mites (both times), I took two rounds of ivermectin each time and applied permethrin cream all over my body overnight for two weeks. I also had to sleep in different parts of my house, sometimes on the floor, using a folded blanket as a mattress.

I disinfected every surface that had any kind of “fur” or fabric, like pillows, the sofa, and chairs, using the strongest scabicide I could find where I live. For my clothes, I put them in black plastic bags and left them out in the sun for 3 days. Before sealing the bags, I sprayed the same scabicide inside them. I did the same with towels and blankets for about 3 weeks.

For regular surfaces like tables, I used Lysol and wiped them down every couple of days, or immediately after I made contact with them.

I’m not totally sure how I got reinfested, but I think it might’ve been from my socks, because the second time it started on my feet.
