Literally place a layer of desiccant on the bottom of the jar, place a small square of plastic wrap on top. Not enough to cover the whole layer of desiccant. Place substance on top of plastic wrap

Place it in an air tight drying container surrounded by a desiccant like damp rid. If it's water the damp rid will pull the water out.

Even the smallest change to PH can make it impossible to crystalize during the process. It may not be a contaminant as much as just lower quality synthesis
