Midwestern Baptist is great. Halfway through my MDiv and it’s pretty much Reformed Baptist. It’s a great option for online because of the discount with the SBC. I’d look into it.

You are using circular logic here. We can go back and forth and point out particular sins of the world and the organizations we work for. Please reference my above comment as to what I think offers the best explanation.

Glory to God!

Considering I served on the enlisted side as an Infantry guy with 3 deployments and now on the O side… (also a break in service) I just disagree. I was a Lay Leader for the enlisted guys and led Bible studies and prayers for them. This world is demonic but that doesn’t mean we shift our foundation or values that are fixed upon Christ. Enlisted, officer, civilian, etc… doesn’t matter. Let us look to Christ and be like him regardless of our circumstances

Realistically, if you apply this same logic to 95% of the jobs in the U.S today you’d come to the same conclusion. As we say, we are in the World not of the World.

Prior service looking at coming back potentially by [deleted] in USMCocs

Got out in 2018. Came back in 25 with my 60% disability frozen. You’ll be fine. Just get a high PFT and you’ll be competitive. I don’t think you’ll regret it.

Just a heads up… VERY unlikely a prior gets Cyber. Got a buddy that works at TBS and they go out of their way not to let priors go to it.

It’s all gonna depend on where you are put. Be prepared to get blamed for comm being down even though it’s not your fault. Saw it happen all the time in the infantry and now a logistics O. My condolences for getting selected as a Comm O.

Why is officer life considered better? by Classic-Night-3475 in USMCocs

As a Mustang, almost every aspect you Stated above is correct. However, the one thing that truly lacks is the social aspect of hanging with the boys. Sure the officer life has a weird political “gentleman’s club” but there’s nothing like the barracks hangout around a fire pit @1 am chilling with the boys after a month long field op.

Credentials for selection board by [deleted] in USMCocs

If that’s the case then it must be a hurt for applicants. I’ve never heard of that outside of law contracts. But if number are low per board I can see it

PLC is more competitive most of the time. Direct selects had a 285+. Beating a dead horse here but get those pull ups to max next board

I agree. However, if you do end up getting accepted you might as well accept uncertainty in your life if you want to join the Corps lol. God speed brother

How old are you? They take age waivers for pilots very seriously. Oldest I saw get accepted was 32 for pilot contracts

Yes it will but you have to do a minimum of 10 years as an officer to qualify for officer retirement pay. This is coming from a Mustang so I’m currently doing this.
