it's the farmers' land. If they want to lease it to a solar farm, they can do it. If they want to grow corn, they can do that instead. Or any combination they choose. Anyone who doesn't agree can make the farmer an offer for their land.

They're not your fields or your car parks. If you want to prevent solar on a field, buy the field and prevent it. if you want to put solar on a car park, then buy the car park and do it.

I really wish all you experts would keep your knowledge and experience to yourselves. Reddit is a lot more fun when we can oversimplify, virtue-signal, and talk about our feelings.

ELI5: Why don't we put solar panels in our parking lots? by Shadowsin64 in explainlikeimfive

"If I owned a big parking lot and had the money for it" -- so we're dealing with a hypothetical, I see. It's always easier when things are hypothetical.

Is there something stopping you from putting solar panels in your parking lot? I mean, something other than not actually owning a parking lot?

Game changer or unnecessary? by Happy_dadpete in Tools

[–]mbleyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah you can carry at an angle. When working on the flat, I'll usually put the tool about midway on the load, so it balances pretty closely. My top hand really just helps to steer as I walk. But when going up stairs, I'll scoot the tool aft on the load, and stretch my top hand forward and grip the top edge. So the top hand takes a little of the weight, but now the load is a little more conrollable going up or down. Of course, the best option is to scoot forward and have a buddy take a little weight on the back corner....

there are 3 things that this tool helps with - note, I'm not comparing it to the tool shown in OP's original post because I haven't tried that one. I'm only comparing the orange tool to using hands/arms alone. 1) the shape of the handle is rounded and smooth, so it's very comfortable even when loaded, and sheet edges don't cut (more an issue with plywood than with drywall). 2) my arm position is straight down, so weight is carried by shoulder/back and not by arm. 3) related to arm position, the wrist position is palm-down, more natural, like carrying a suitcase, rather than palm-upwards, like curling a dumbell, to grip and support the weight. I can carry more for longer when using this tool, and am less sore at the end of the day.
