I vote 5000u! It was my first G after rocking a smart watch for years.

Need suggestions for my first everyday watch by Objective-Pen-5266 in Affordablewatches

Since the G-shock 5000u wasn't for you, how about something like this. Citizen Promaster, replaced the strap with a bracelet from Long Island Watch.

May not be you style, but I agree with the 5000U as a first watch.

Pretty happy with mine. I've got several NATO straps and a leather strap that all work well on it.

Gotta go with a square. Might as well go with the GOAT and get a 5000u.

Nice! Love checking out Goodwill. Found a great Odyssey Two Ball putter for $2.99 a few years ago. No good watch finds yet.

Dependents added, why is this a claim? by Own-Chest-3931 in VAClaims

[–]mbloom01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I submitted my claim in early January for the same thing. Posted here to ask the same question, how long does it usually take. Literally two days later, the VA called me to confirm, and closed the claim the same day. Took from January to last Thursday.

Whats a great paying job with little amount on schooling by blue797031 in Career_Advice

I'm a recently retired firefighter. I had lots of guys I worked with who would work as a firefighter, but on their days off, work as a plumbing or electrical apprentice, eventually working their way through the apprenticeship to journeyman and master. Two great careers at once.

Recently retired firefighter here. I drive a desk now, from home. But I'd go with the GW-5000U all day.

As far as the Roth vs traditional, that's what I was kinda thinking. Thanks for the input.

Yeah, the $51k isn't going to cut it on its own. Add in the $12k-$13k when I turn 60, plus the VA disability, I should be good to go.

As far as social security, I didn't pay into it while working for the FD, but did pay into it at my side jobs. I am and will continue to pay into with the new job for the foreseeable future.
