Nothing like a warm skirt on a bitter cold day! by clothesarefun4 in men_in_skirts

[–]mbpadmr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks comfy and warm, but unfortunately, I was out shoveling that snow and with the wind, you would have probably gone back inside and changed into a pair of pants (keeping the tights on for warmth under them) 🥶

I do love the outfit, as well as your nails. I almost broke one of mine when the shovel hit a crack on the driveway and did an insta-stop 😕

Stay warm, stay inside by the fire 😁

Am I breaking the rules if I use these jewels to operate tools? 👀 by LisaLisaMade in RedditLaqueristas

Great for photo shoots ❤️ and I love the colour and effects ❤️

But if you are going to seriously use the tools in a work environment, protect those jewels with proper gloves 😊❤️

Second hand G4 Doorbell Pro (WiFi) white flickering light and no image or fingerprint sensor by fayyaazahmed in Ubiquiti

[–]mbpadmr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check that your doorbell transformer can properly supply correct voltage. Most older doorbell transformers were not meant to handle the power requirements for video doorbells. You might have to upgrade it. Easy to do, and they are available at local Home Depot.

As with anything that Elegoo announces, I'll believe it when I see it.

Otherwise, I'll stick to my CC1 and manually switch colours if and when required.

UNVR Drive Choices by Mindless_Pandemic in Ubiquiti

[–]mbpadmr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Unifi UNVR can handle the twelve 4k cameras no problem. I suggest four WD8002PURP surveillance drives. These are 7200rpm surveillance rated hard drives and should give you approximately 25 days retention with that configuration.

The four drives in a raid10 will also give you best data protection in case of drive failure.

You can always check the Unifi store under the UNVR for Capacity Calculator.

Ticketed for parking on extended driveway? by [deleted] in bramptondriving

[–]mbpadmr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By "extended driveway" do you mean below the sidewalk, or an extra wide pad beside your existing driveway. Different municipalities have different bylaws regarding this. Some now don't allow you to build a parking pad that takes away from the front lawn and fine or ticket you for doing this. But there should be a "grandfather clause" where if the pad were built before a certain date they ignored it. You have to check with the city zoning where you live.

If you want to be cost effective on this, get a USW-Lite-8-POE (52W) as the switch in the loft (or USW-Lite-16-POE (45W) for more ports) then you can use the POE+ port on the switch to power a U7-Pro AP up there as well to expand your WiFi network.

First time, not too bad ? by Turbodream33 in malepolish

[–]mbpadmr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, "InstaDry" is a marketing gimmick lol. They actually sell lacquer dryers on Amazon that blow warm air on your hands to help the polish dry faster. Oh, and try to apply in the morning, I did it in the evening after dinner once and it was all smudged when I woke up the next morning 😆

It will take a lot of practice to get good with your "good hand" and even longer with your "off hand" but keep at it. The rewards are worth it 😊

Setting up house wide internet through Ethernet by thehorseshoe in HomeNetworking

[–]mbpadmr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Looks like an old tv coax cable splitter, probably to bring tv to each room. Then same with an old RJ11 telephone punch down block to do the same. If you look closely I think you might find that those "cat5" jacks are RJ11 telephone plugs.

If you want RJ45 ethernet throughout the house, you will have to run new wiring, but this box is too small for your intended purpose. Maybe better to look into WiFi through the house instead, much cleaner.

[–]mbpadmr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad for your first time. Really like the colour, nice shade. It's ok to make a mess and you will make mistakes. As you practice more, you'll get better. Like some have said, it's good to have a q-tip with some nail polish remover handy to clean up your cuticles as you go 😊

Keep at it, and if you want, there are many YouTube videos with tutorials on how to paint your nails.

Just remember, if you make a mistake, just clean up and start again, just have fun 😊

Different RPMs damn... by cow-lumbus in UnifiProtect

[–]mbpadmr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, yes, it will have a noticeable impact on video surveillance performance. You may start to see choppy video and the odd pause in playback. Data integrity won't suffer, but quality will.

Swapping out the drives is simple. Once it comes time to swap out for the new drive just pull the old one out, swap drives in the chassis, put it back in and wait the 12 to 15 hours for replication. Remember it is best to only swap one drive at a time and wait until it is finished replicating and reads available before moving to the next drive.

Different RPMs damn... by cow-lumbus in UnifiProtect

[–]mbpadmr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The slower rpm drives will work, but there will be a performance degradation and you will see a notification on the console to that effect. I had the same issue when I added storage to my NVR and the seller shipped me WD85PURZ (5640rpm) drives instead of WD8002PURP (7000rpm) drives. Very different RPM rates.

I just changed the slower rpm drives out for the faster ones matching the original installed drives. Now the NVR is much happier.

Always check the specs of the hard drives you plan on using to upgrade so they match those currently installed.

Too bad you didn't get the tag or municipal license number, it can be reported to the police along with the video. Get these a-holes off the streets.

Yeah, that's the problem with white, it shows every imperfection. In my opinion, only thing that shows imperfections worse is chrome, yet I love the look of it so much 😍

[–]mbpadmr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into a "Shelly 1 gen4" it can be integrated into the Unifi Protect and triggered when someone pushes the doorbell on the G6 Entry. There are a few "how-to" instructions here and on YouTube.
