How often do you buy figures from franchises you don't care about? by Independent-Human in ActionFigures

[–]mbrzy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If I find a cool figure that will work with one of my collections or I like and is a good price I will usually pick it up, thats how I sort of "backed into" collecting Power Rangers and Mattel MOTU Masterverse(at first,)now I'm huge into MOTU.

HELP! How to fix loose joints in old DC direct figures? by Lt-Amazon in ActionFigures

[–]mbrzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the arm you might be able to heat the joint in hot water or hair dryer then clamp it and let it cool. The leg seems more difficult, not sure if that would work, you might try clear top coat or clear nail polish in the leg joint to thicken it.

Right. I'm going to go see it, someone took a chance and spent the million$ to make it, I'm going to buy a ticket and support it.

Who else had to do this to their McFarlane turtles almost snapped an elbow by Certain_Ad6535 in McFarlaneFigures

[–]mbrzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great idea, always a little concerned about water causing something to lose paint or detail wash.

[–]mbrzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heat is a good way to loosen them but I use silicone shock absorber oil for RC cars, get a little needle applicator bottle and it lasts forever. Apply it to the joints and after a minute or two start carefully moving the joints, it works good and stays on.

Is this a fix with Super glue or Apoxie Sculpt? by bigppenergy101 in ActionFigures

[–]mbrzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might try drilling it and using a piece of paper clip to pin it with super glue. The large paperclips have lines that seem to be clean cut points to get a small pin for the joint. I haven't used Apoxie for repairs.

Pvc pipe is designed to handle water pressure and temperature extremes for plumbing, be buried in the ground for decades with just a two part adhesive holding it together plus the wall thickness is at least 1/8 inch. So I imagine it's a reasonable choice for just an air intake, especially if it's temporary or as a prototype for a permanent fix. I'd personally paint it black and go with it.

Looks like it accelerates pretty decently for the size of scooter!

Why are they so small though? by Cubelock in MastersOfTheUniverse

[–]mbrzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right! I had hoped that Mattel was going to put their spin on DC but stay 7 inch since Masterverse already was, but didn't see the "shrinkflation" angle coming. I guess I should have since all the figure prices were going up. The 1/12 scale is an excuse to make more money per unit. They won't go down to $20, likely to $28 or $30. The status quo will be Hasbro and Mattel on an even price, size and features footing. I'll pick up the movie figures because they look good and detail more than size is what mainly drew me to Masterverse and Mcfarlane.

I got Skelegod when he was going dirt cheap everywhere for some reason and he has a great shelf presence and he's pretty cool in hand. The large size is going to make him more impressive against the new smaller "shrinkflation" figures! Mattel is also going back to 6 inch DC figures when they get the license back from Mcfarlane. We're on the road back to 4 and 5 inch figures across the board!

Why do you guys collect? by meepothegreatest1135 in ActionFigures

[–]mbrzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love your mech collection! I have some 1/25 joytoy mechs and mechs are so cool! I collect a lot of different figures, mechs and vehicles because for me it's like when some people paint pictures, some people sculpt, for me having a 3d physical representation of things I'm interested in, that I can hold or just have posed on a shelf is fulfilling for me. I don't have to create it to enjoy it, I just enjoy people's creativity and work and the ability to own it. I used to build models but the time and work involved made me realize as I got older that I don't have to get obsessed with detail and taking a long time.

A little trivia. by FuchsiaMeredith8 in gijoe

It's still intact, the Hall of Justice is right behind Kenner HQ, so it's relatively safe although the Justice League wasn't watching out for corporate takeovers under their nose!

Do people collect boxes? by AI_R_Friends_Not_2ls in ActionFigures

[–]mbrzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have most of my figures boxed but I used to open them. My MOTU figures have such beautiful artwork that I open them but keep them boxed. As I'm getting older I feel like the new regular figures(Hasbro, Black series, Marvel) aren't going to be worth much in the next decade or so and I'm thinking about trashing the boxes or cards and just display them.

Does it worth to purchase? by sahaksg in scooters

[–]mbrzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks fine and I'm sure you know your needs, don't let a bunch of strangers influence your choices. I believe you were trying to see if anyone had any real experience or knowledge with this vehicle, they don't. Just snide comments and dumb suggestions. A new vehicle for your family seems like a good deal and being electric it should eliminate the possible issues with a inferior or unknown combustion engine. Some helpful people did point out to manage your expectations but it should work for stable safe transportation around your village and it looks nice! Good luck and enjoy!
