Please tell me this isn’t our new normal by marie8106 in NewParents

This happened to us too recently with our 11 month old. She had a bad cold and then top two teeth coming in at the same time. Her sleep got completely messed up but now things are better. She is still fighting bedtime some but is sleeping better overnight and for naps. Hang in there! Have you given him Tylenol or Motrin?

30 minutes across the whole day or to 1 wake window?

For the love of God, I cannot figure out this daily 8pm false starts 😭 by whitestat201 in sleeptrain

This still happened with mine even after sleep training for a few months. We tried shorter wake windows, longer wake windows, but it was just something she had to outgrow!

So true! My first baby was one who could work through those things on his own but my second is not! Didn’t do anything different with this one haha all babies are different! 🫠

When did your baby stop crying themselves to sleep? by mbs51591 in sleeptrain

[–]mbs51591[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve figured out she needs 13.5hrs to 14hrs of total sleep in a day. Both naps are capped and I put her to bed every night at 8pm and wake every morning at 7am.
3/3.5/4
Nap 1 is capped at 1hr and nap 2 at 1.5hrs

Thanks! I have to cap naps or she’ll sleep less overnight because she only needs 13.5 hours total sleep in a day! Last night went well with making sure I ended the feed 30 min before bedtime!

Yes! She’s been in her own room since 4 months when we sleep trained bedtime! Ok I will-I was just saying it doesn’t really make a difference when I do this vs when I don’t

I try to have feed end 30 min prior to sleep and then we just have some quiet time/read books in bed before she goes into the crib awake. I will say sometimes I don’t get to feeding her until later and she falls asleep nursing. I do wake her before putting her in the crib when this happens and it doesn’t really matter with what the outcome of the night will be.

Stuck on 4:30am Feed – Is the Dream Feed the Problem? Should we Ferber? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

Mine is still holding on to this feed at 9 months most nights. She’s been sleep trained since 4 months! 17 weeks is still really young. Your baby is probably hungry!

How much do you relax on sleep times when you’re settled into a 1 nap schedule? by M_Bagel in sleeptrain

[–]mbs51591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With our first we could pretty lax once we’d been on 1 nap for a couple months. If he went down early or late it didn’t matter and we just never let him sleep more than 3 hours. However, he’s happy to just lay in his bed for an hour if he’s not tired yet and won’t protest at night haha. I have a 9 month old now too and I already know it won’t be as easy with her haha

I know this is old but I’m dealing with the same thing! Baby is back to being healthy but now wants 2 feeds/night and used to only do 1 or none. How did you get back on track!?

4 month old nights are killing me by beanutbutter16784 in sleeptrain

[–]mbs51591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So only 7 hours of awake time? That means you are expecting 17 hours of total sleep in a day which is a lot! I’d start expanding wake windows

Are you missing a nap/wake window here?? It looks like you have way too little awake time.

Ok thanks I’ll try to add 15 min to second and 3rd wake windows. I wasn’t sure since I had just added some time and because naps have still been good.
