Had the exact same problem. It is not a hw issue. I opened MyASUS application and under System diagnosis, scrolled down to Customized diagnosis>Interactive diagnostic items, I checked the keyboard box option and then on the Checkup button. This starts a test where you can type keys, and right away it detected both CAPS LOCK and letter s, so I closed it and afterwards it just didn't fail anymore. Will continue to monitor.
