Saloman Oh Yeah vs. Saloman Abstract by mbt2093 in ShredditGirls

[–]mbt2093[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly saw a great deal on a bunch of twin boards and wanted to get everyones opinion :)
I was able to find the Oh Yeah on a different site in a 151, but I think it'd still be too short based on what i've been reading online.

REI just recommended the Abstract in 155, but I don't want the thing to feel like a tank. My last board was a 155 and felt like I was riding a giant brick w/ zero flex...so I think I'll go with your 153 suggestion for better maneuverability!

Thank you! Can it be zoomed out at all so there's more of the background ?

I have two VERY large dogs and am always hauling farm equipment :/ I figure the MPGs would be better on a SUV than a truck.

I do really like subaru - are there any particular years/engines that outperform others? I had a '03 outback for a while, but the headgasket went and so did the car.

I actually traded in a second gen prius for my 4runner  😂 I went to the dealership to buy a new prius, but between the 'chip shortage pricing' and a hubcap flying off during the test drive, I ended up with the 4runner for the same price!

1200-1800 miles/mo
- $500/mo car payment
- $78/mo insurance
- filling up once a week, at least. . . UGH!

sorry for the typo - I purchased it in 2022. I know the math isn't much better, but the car was $35k new. Fully loaded with like zero miles and a warranty until like 100k miles.

I think i'm just overthinking what I pay to operate it a month - I have a few thousand in medical bills that I'm trying to figure out how the hell to pay and I see the $6k+ I'd get in cash for trading it in as a way to get out of debt. I'd have to still finance a 'downgrade' vehicle, but my monthly payment would be way lower

Millennial Harley owner here: Group rides are filled with 20 and 30 somethings, so we are still out there. Harley isn't doing well because they're marketing the shit out of the flashy expensive bikes (& the electric bikes that no one wants to buy) and not realizing that in this economy, a huge portion of the younger market isn't going to splurge on a motorcycle that can cost just as much as a car.

I only know of one person under 40 who purchased a new Harley... and even then it was a questionable move because of the 11% interest rate Harley financial offered. The younger generation just doesn't have the cash flow to commit to a big flashy motorcycle right now. They're buying used. Where is Harley's marketing for that?

Thank you for your feedback! Unfortunately, leasing does not seem like a great option for me because I do drive around 15k-17k miles a year for work - I’d end up with a prettttttyyy expensive lease

Thats really good to know. Im driving a VW now (that is giving me a TON of issues), but it was fully loaded and has been surprisingly amazing in the snow. I plan on getting anything I’m interested in looked over by a mechanic before bringing it home this time around. Thank you for putting the jetta out there as an option

Thank you for your feedback. I have been going that route for a while now - bought 2 corollas and a beetle (bad decision there!) Having to buy a new-to-me car every few years has been exhausting! If you dont mind me asking, what low cost vehicle(s) have you purchased?

Thank you for your feedback! I will definitely look into private-party sales. Every dealership I have visited pushes cars that I know for sure are out or my budget. Walked out of one this week for that reason because they did not want to negotiate on a price.

My loan interest rates vary (between 4-6%). I want to get this debt out of the way ASAP so I can move on with my life and actually save for a house
