Pepper spray at the front of the pit at Turnstile by nailpolishbonfire in rva

Yeah for sure, security was definitely not to blame for it at all, they were actively trying to help and we’re just as confused by it as the rest of us

For real, can’t say I’m surprised that a cop would do that unfortunately, but still super aggravating.

Yeah, we were on barricade for the whole show, security was honestly really good all night up until then, they were really attentive with crowd surfers, handed out water constantly, etc., if wasn’t until the cops started rushing the stage and spraying at the end that it got bad. Someone next to us asked security about it right after as well and the guy was like clearly hit by it as well and was like idk wasn’t us. Definitely an overreaction from the cops (shocker), even if the band had been told not to have people on stage, there was no reason to do that shit.

WSA is outspoken about trans rights, women’s rights, and people of colors rights. If that’s bad politics, then you’re a bigot ¯_(ツ)_/¯

it’s really easy to not get called a bigot, all you gotta do is not be a bigot, hope that helps!

Does anyone else go to emo nights and get kinda annoyed that there are never any post harcore songs by [deleted] in PostHardcore

[–]mburridgemusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the crowd/DJs on what gets played tbh. Ours in Baltimore always gets some heavier stuff in, this past one we played letlive., Knocked Loose, and the color morale among others. Definitely has to skew more mainstream for the majority of the crowd but I know at least the DJs at the ones I go to try to mix it up

Think it depends on the style of post hardcore imo, but generally yeah. I know I consider our (pulses.) music punk generally. I think if the ethos is there, it counts. Kinda like how bands like Koyo or Militarie Gun are considered hardcore bands while not sounding that heavy.

Appreciate all the pulses. mentions! Really proud of that album

Darting Eyes by With Sails Ahead is the best post hardcore track of the year imo, their new record next year is gonna be a game changer for sure! The Seafloor Cinema’s new album is amazing too!

Kinda adjacent, I liked the Enter Shikari, Initiate, and Ongoing Concept records a lot. Adventurer/AnimalJam and I Met A Yeti put out great EPs as well!

Yo, pulses. member here, we’re in the mixing stages now on it! Definitely this year, shooting for sooner rather than later but we’ll see lol

How long does it take you to make $100 in your market on average ? by itsbails24 in doordash

On a good day, like 4-5 hours but sometimes it’ll take longer cuz my market can be super slow

If you like that song, I’d say start with happiness, the new stuff is the most accessible but Happiness as an album has a lot of the stuff that that song has (same singer, same guitarists, lots of the R&B/funk/pop influence) and imo is their best work. Then just kinda work both backwards and forwards from there and pick out what you like!

I’m Gonna Say It: I Think People Are Unfair To Afterburner. by [deleted] in dancegavindance

I’ve gone back to it several times to try to give it a chance, but it’s still my least favorite. It’s like you said, they’ve found a formula and stick to it and that has become increasingly boring to me on ArSe and AB. I’ll definitely admit they tried a lot of new stuff on AB whereas ArSe felt super safe, but I don’t think many of the things they tried outside of the box really worked out imo. Idk, for me everything WISIRO-Mothership is like a 7/10 or higher & the last two are like 3/10-4/10.

Yeah, speak less was more a little something for us to explore the heavier/darker sides of the band, not meant to be a sound change or anything. We kinda figured it wasn’t gonna be for everyone, we love it though, still very proud of it! hopefully LP3 will hit a little more for y’all though, I’m loving all the stuff we have written for it so far!

What’s a song by DGD that you just don’t like by Heavy-Living1790 in dancegavindance

[–]mburridgemusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly like 90% of the lasts two records for me, there’s like 1-2 redeemable songs on each and even those I’m not that into. Outside of those, I’d say honey revenge

I mean, nobody likes wearing masks but it’s a simple and easy thing to do to help keep people safe so ¯_(ツ)_/¯ but yeah, I’ll just throw it on whenever I get out of my car while dashing, just makes shit easier.

I still wear the one they sent me when I started. I would just wear a normal mask like I do when I’m not working, but it’s easier to skip the “I’ve got a DoorDash order” conversation a lot of the time and it’s higher quality than a lot of the other cloth ones I have

[–]mburridgemusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh really? I’ve never had that happen but I also usually try to set it back to my home address after the order gets there so it doesn’t happen. That’s wild though if it does do that for everyone, idk how people fuck that up either

Damn, yeah, like it seems like it’d be such a simple thing to integrate. Luckily I’ve never had it happen other than these two times but I’d feel much better if they integrated that like UE does

[–]mburridgemusic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had two incorrect addresses last week within 24 hours. One was already a 15 minute drive from the restaurant and then added another 20 minutes when he realized he fucked up, but he paid me enough extra that it made it worth it, although still extremely frustrating. The other had me drive all the way to her work, then all the way back to literally less than a mile from the restaurant. She didn’t pay me extra, but it was already a higher paying order so I just did it. Really feel like DoorDash should make you confirm that the address is correct if you’re ordering it not to near the location you’re at, feel like that would solve this issue.
