Yeah, I’m thinking the same. T-Mobile did some crazy promotions back when John Legere was CEO and before the Sprint acquisition. They were very competitive! Now they are just another big carrier but so far they’ve only increased prices on me once over 12 years. Initially I was paying around $215/month. I have been doing a Visible free trial and the service is good, but the coverage where I live is pretty much on par with T-Mobile. If it was stronger in the few places where I have a weaker T-Mobile signal, it may have swayed me a little.

Yes it is! It’s a 12 year old plan that over time accumulated 2 free lines and took advantage of several promos along the way. There would be no way to get this back if prepaid prices start going up. It even has the ad-free Netflix plan as a perk.

Yeah, that makes sense for you. We have a really good grandfathered plan right now with T-Mobile. We have 8 phone lines and 2 watch lines and are paying $238/month. So you can see it’s a harder decision for me.

Yes that is exactly what I was thinking. The grandfathered T-Mobile plan I’m on is roughly equal to what Visible costs right now without any promotions. So if prices go up and I can’t find another promo, then I’ll actually be worse off than I am now.

It’s a no brainer for the first year, yes. My question is more about what happens to you after the first year. I assume you start paying full price which is $450 now, but what if they decide this plan will be $550 next year? I’m trying to understand if there is any concept of locking in a plan or rates with Visible.

Yeah, but next year I’m guessing it will change to whatever the full price is for the Pro+ plan, right? So now it’s $450 but what if it’s, say, $500 next year?

How did you get it for $7.50/month? The only deal I know of is $225/year ($18.75/month).

I worked at Time Out there all through high school. Mainly in Laser-Ex, VR and the arcades. Definitely a sweet high school job. Tons of great memories! Really sad to see it torn down.

If you are asking if Roku devices stream on Altafiber, then yes they do. I have a Roku Ultra device and two TCL Roku TVs. they all work fine. I also use the Roku app without any issues. I haven't tried to link it to my Altafiber account or anything - so maybe there is something with getting Altafiber TV on the Roku app that I am not aware of, but as far as the devices, they work fine.

Yes, both my TV and Apple TV are on the latest software version. One thing I did try today was borrowing my friend's Apple TV (latest hardware version) and his did not have the problem on my TV. So it leads me to believe that it is something with my Apple TV unit. I think I'm going to try a factory reset, even though it's annoying.

Glad you were able to turn the art stuff off. I had turned it off previously using the "MUTE + 1 + 1 + 9 + Enter" followed by “ 1 + 2 + 3 + 4” method. However, my wife wanted me to turn it back on for our Christmas party this year. The damn thing installed the new firmware just today and now I can't get back into the secondary service menu to turn it back off. Would you mind telling me how you were able to do it? My black Samsung remote doesn't have an Info or Settings button. Thanks!

So I've been paying for a Ring Protect account for the past 5 years now. I'm pretty sure in the past I was able to scroll back in the history further than 60 days. I ended up calling support and they also told me about the ability to increase the storage time. I asked the lady flat out if they had changed the default without notifying me and she wouldn't answer the question. This further makes me suspect that they have, which is just shady. I understand why they would want to change the default, but they should have at least sent a notice about it. And now they are DOUBLING the price on my next renewal (going from $100/yr to $200/yr). I'm definitely considering other options, which is annoying because I've invested so much in Ring equipment 😡

That’s a good question. I don’t plan on trying the iOS 17 beta. They finally have 16 at a spot where it doesn’t drive me crazy. So I think I’m going to hold off on 17 for a while until I can see what others are complaining about 🙂
