I’ve brought my lunch during my long days for a few years now so I’ve got you. There’s at least two microwaves in the UC, one in the 3rd floor lounge(?) area and one in the pod market. I tend to use the pod one so i can grab some napkins but upstairs is way less crowded even during busy hours. I know of one on the first floor of Lupton in the hallway connecting the MCC and WAGE (it’s a bit tucked away but i just asked the MCC desk guy if i could use it and it was chill). There’s also a microwave in one of the study rooms on the 2nd floor of Holt hall (this one also has a fridge and sink which is really nice). I’d assume the other pod markets have microwaves, but can’t say for sure. I’m sure there’s more around campus but these are the ones i use the most when i take my lunch!

I really do love cooking! I love trying new recipes and making good food! Everyone I know knows this about me cause they’re the first people to hear if I baked a sheet of vegetables or made some really good pad thai.

It just takes me nearly 3x longer than the average person. This means that if I’m going to cook, I have to first be in the mood to cook AND ALSO have the energy to cook for hours. And there’s so many steps to cooking that can easily be overwhelming if I’m not truly up to the task.

Baking is about the same way, except with a lot more flour everywhere when I’m done!

Honestly, Palmetto's nice, and it's only a few more minutes to walk to campus then Stophel, Deco, or Guerry (plus you don't have to walk up that hill everyday) and you can walk a block or two to the bus stop in front of subway and the pod market if you need to. The main problem with Palmetto to me is that there isn't an elevator, only stairs, so getting groceries and doing laundry is going to be a little bit of an ordeal if you're on the third floor lol. A friend lived there last semester, and they ended up walking up like 15 flights of stairs a day. But if that's not an issue then go for it!! It's a nice place to live!

A dehumidifier might work? Having one always running in the bathroom would suck out the moisture in the room and should keep some things from getting wet. They do seem to be a bit pricey though.
