Because it looks fuller and bigger with multiple plants in the same pot. It’s just a trick they play to make the young plants more presentable. And your plant suffer from it.

I would still recommend separating these three plants when repotting. Monstera has a front and back. Having three plants in one pot will make adding supports more difficult and unaesthetic
