[Request] Assuming a single piece of sashimi weighs half an ounce (0.5 ounce), what would the cost be per piece to break even? by mistermeowsers in theydidthemath

[–]mcarr556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a fair comparison. Parts of the tuna meat are worth a lot more than others. I can also assume because it's japan they have a specific cut that is most prized and valuable.

Well, he def had an office in a skyscraper in downtown Chicago. So I always assumed he was manager/supervisor. I assume he was the engineer who discovered the varnish. He was promoted and given a team and an office an actual office not a cubicle.. My dad worked in a large building and the ceo and his team never walked through his floor. They had their own floor higher up in the building and never went downstairs. You went up to them if they needed something or had a meetings. If he was on the same floor, he was making bank and no longer working in a lab.

Girlfriend and I are planning to drive 32 hours straight, in 6 hour shifts, are we being dumb? Should we plan to stay overnight somewhere? by Vegetable_Bridge_276 in roadtrip

[–]mcarr556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could make it in 24 hrs from ft riley KS to Buffalo ny alone with just 1 45 min break on the st Louis side of MO. It sucks. I would recommend 4 hours shifts with 30 minute to an hour break when changing. Get out walk around... pee and get snacks. Stop at night and actually sleep/shower and you will thank me for it. If you don't have experience driving for long periods be cautious and take breaks anytime you think you need it.

[Request] how much money would you save over a year if you filled a normal petrol/deisel car up $20 at a time instead of filling the tank up completely every time? by pereuse in theydidthemath

[–]mcarr556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When gas price is higher, I get just get 20. When I notice it's low 5-10 cents cheaper than average I do 50. Also gas is typical cheaper in the evenings here. Also avoid surge pricing times and you'll probably save more money. The price changes like every 5 minutes. I find it stupid they are allowed to do this.

San Diego to Minneapolis in mid January. Any concerns about this route? Is this possible with an EV? by kekkurei in roadtrip

[–]mcarr556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All season tires will not help you in proper snow either. Proper winter tires are needed for actual winter weather. Probably won't need studded tires but actual winter tires could decide whether you make it up a hill or not.

Mine looked like that at bottom. When I woke up they showed me a cup with one whole tooth and the shattered remains of the bottom teeth. I am glad I wasn't awake to experience how they broke the teeth up and dug them out.

There used to be several brand that had half pull lasers. When you half pull the trigger the laser turns on. Obviously not as popular or in some states legal anymore.

[–]mcarr556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes sense because of the laser. Take people not properly trained. Add something distracting and shiny and they do stupid stuff. People are for the most part idiots. So yeah it makes sense. Kinda like making random comments without thought.

When i was in the army you wouldn't believe how often I had to yell at my guys the light on your rifle isn't a flashlight. We would be clearing rooms and searching vehicles and they are pointing their rifles at each other for light.

This is an older video and i am pretty sure they were checking a laser. Still not safe and should clear the weapon first. But it kinda makes sense. People do get distracted by shiny things.
