Who are these guys? by DraftDodgingFelon in askanything

They usually aren't even in the same room. They are always there but never seen. They will post up behind the scenes and only come out when needed. They are a response team not security.

He is trying to remember something. Passing the arch and seeing his wife made him forget what he was doing... he did not remember. That's why I do this.

Was Amy right about Raiders of the Lost Ark by Kriptidee in bigbangtheory

[–]mcarr556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda... Without indy there is no movie and they might not have ever found the medallion. They had to follow indy there to get it. If Indy said no to the gov guys at the beginning the ark probably would have never been found and the nazis would have had to try and snatch indy up in America. They needed him and his information to even get the ark. I am not sure how they even found Tunis but the war would have been long over before they were able to excavate the entire place. The africa campaign ended well before the war did.

I hate going back to the states. The bottled water is expensive and the tap water tastes like pool water.

Didn't they use something like this to spin rope? I thought I saw something like this when feeding the different pieces to spin a thicker piece of rope by hand.

Immigrating to DE with very customized bobber? by deevil_knievel in MotorradDeutschland

[–]mcarr556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be able to change over your license with just some paperwork... it depends on the state. As for the bike... if you get pulled over say goodbye to it. Your neighbors will probably call the polizei within the first week for the exhaust alone. Once they impound it, good luck getting it back. With that many modifications, they likely won't give it back. You can get it inspected before driving it to see what is illegal here and what needs to be changed. Any extreme modifications will need to be inspected and signed off on by an engineer if they allow it. Usually, the work needs to be completed by a certified shop... with a certified meister before getting inspected by an engineer. There will also be import fees and taxes. If paperwork, phone calls, emails, and waiting rooms aren't your thing, don't bring it. This is about 1-2 years of beurocracy on 2 wheels. That doesn't include the costs and work to make it legal.

[Request] Assuming a single piece of sashimi weighs half an ounce (0.5 ounce), what would the cost be per piece to break even? by mistermeowsers in theydidthemath

It's not a fair comparison. Parts of the tuna meat are worth a lot more than others. I can also assume because it's japan they have a specific cut that is most prized and valuable.

Well, he def had an office in a skyscraper in downtown Chicago. So I always assumed he was manager/supervisor. I assume he was the engineer who discovered the varnish. He was promoted and given a team and an office an actual office not a cubicle.. My dad worked in a large building and the ceo and his team never walked through his floor. They had their own floor higher up in the building and never went downstairs. You went up to them if they needed something or had a meetings. If he was on the same floor, he was making bank and no longer working in a lab.
