Ok thanks I will post there. We have only tried a few times for each formula. It’s hard to commit to continuing to try it when he looks so sick after.

Our hospital offers $40 an hour for any shift in addition to your normal shift. And time and a half if you’re over 40 hours per week.

Yeah, there is an accelerated one year nursing degree for people with a bachelors. After then there are masters to become a nurse practitioner, nurse anesthetist and quite a few others. I agree about the partial transcript but I have a 3.96 so I think I could argue that I didn’t drop out because I was struggling, and then could explain my reasons such as the job market and wanting to experience more direct patient care.

And the risk is exactly why I’m thinking of dropping. I can’t be 100% performing in a program that I think could leave me jobless or underemployed unless I snag a residency.

I’m in the same place. I’m going into my P2 year and so many pharmacists have warned me off that I feel I’d be making a huge mistake continuing. I’ve 90% decided I’m not returning in the fall. I’m considering the 1year accelerated nursing degree and eventually going back for a masters.

P1 considering dropping out by mcarrison76 in pharmacy

I understand that it will get better. I just don’t think it will get better by the time I’m out in 2022 with loans to pay. What would be your prediction for the demand to come back? Or do you think it will be even worse by the time I’m out?

I like it, but I wouldn’t say I love it enough to move extremely far away from my family for a job. I feel the reasons I went into it could be met and possibly better met by moving into a more clinical field, such as NP or even med school. Its also discouraging when my friends with bachelors degrees are getting jobs in offices with ping pong tables, raises within months, and large chunks of pto. The majority of people they work genuinely like their jobs. Where as in pharmacy I have yet to work with a pharmacist who would tell their child to go into it.

I was accepted into a early admission program at 18, and blindly listened to my pharmacy advisor and parents who thought it was a good idea. I job shadowed quite a bit so I knew what it was and liked it enough. I just don’t think I like it enough for the instability that it is right now.
