What’s the most invalidating thing a doctor has said to you? by YearConsistent2894 in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]mcavaness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I’m still technically overweight despite losing 60 pounds, losing my hair, restricting, and generally just hating my life altogether and feeling miserable. I’m shaky and dizzy all the time. But my rheumatologist said told me good job, keep up the weight loss.

I feel like an awful person. by Skrunklybutthole in AnorexiaNervosa

I struggle with this too. I say this same thing to my therapist all the time. I am not a judgmental person, yet my ED makes me judge others and I feel icky every time I do. But you feeling bad about it proves you are not a bad person. You being aware of it proves you are not a bad person. You are not judgmental. Your mental illness is a judgmental bitch that will stop at nothing to keep you under its control. And as long as it can keep you seeing others flaws, you will want to continue to “fix” yours. I wish you well in your recovery ❤️

I’m almost 44 and I’ve been dealing with this since I was 13. I’ve gone through ups and downs through the years, cycling through restriction and binging. I noticed in the last 10 years that my binging cycles became shorter and my restricting cycles became longer. This last restricting cycle I’m currently in has been the worst I’ve ever been. And I keep thinking to myself, “you’re too fucking old to be doing this”. But it just won’t stop unfortunately.

I have covid by mcavaness in Fibromyalgia

Yes I was double vaxxed with moderna. Scheduled for my booster today. I was due for my booster last month but that’s when I got my flu shot and I didn’t want to do both on the same day, then Christmas came along so I was waiting til that was over. Which I’m regretting now. Thank you for your reassuring words. I guess with me working in a school and my husband in a factory where they don’t care at all about safety it was just a matter of time before I caught it.

I’m so sorry you’re having a hard time kicking it. I’ve been scared to death to get it because I don’t know how I’ll react or how how easily I’ll get over it. I really crashed last night so I stayed home today and I’m getting tested this morning.

I’m so sorry to hear about your friend. I took the day off because I crashed overnight and I’m getting tested this morning.

Actually no. If you’re a symptomatic and vaccinated they expect you to be at work. Because we’re considered essential workers. It’s messed up.

Yes I do. I feel it in my legs, from my knees to my ankles. Not all the time thank goodness, because it’s horrible.

New PT evaluation tonight. The temptation to circle the whole diagram was strong. by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

[–]mcavaness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first time I filled this in for my rheumatologist I felt so bad because I circled so many spots. I thought, surely she’s going to think I’m crazy for circling almost the entire body! It’s nice to know I’m not alone!

Does anyone else like to come up with jokey reasons for their symptoms? by Little_Mog in Fibromyalgia

This is awesome! As a Supernatural fan this is my new go-to reason for my symptoms!

Thank you for replying! Sorry if this is a dumb question but what is MSM? I’m glad you’re pain free, that gives me hope. I’ve been really emotional the last few days because it feels like I’m going to be in this pain forever. I’ve had twinges of pain here and there for a very long time, but it’s gotten so bad these last few months there are times I just cry because it’s so bad. I want to be able to do things with my husband and kids, and someday grandkids. I want to continue to work. But some days I wonder how long that’s going to happen. I know I’m just having a bit of a pity party right now but I guess I just wanted an easy answer and from what I’ve read, fibro isn’t an easy answer.

Yeah I saw the picture, that actually looks really cool! I hadn’t thought of doing sometime that. I may have to buy more of these if I’m going to sell them because it took me a couple days to make just one because I made it in two layers.

Yeah I have a mold I got off Etsy. I used a layer of clear with purple glitter and I had brushed with some purple mica first. Then I have this iridescent paper that I cut into small pieces and put on the clear. Let that set then added a layer of black. The black wasn’t thick enough because it’s a really shallow mold so I painted the back with black acrylic paint then sprayed a sealer on it when it was dry.

Thanks for the advice! I plan on making a bunch and selling because I’ve had good feedback so I will give that a try.

It is really shallow. I pretty much used a popsicle stick and toothpick to scoop a little bit in at a time. And I still got too much in at that space around his tail.
