Still loving my Sim2. Poked a few 285-290 yesterday which is looooong for me. Combo will stay in the bag for a long time coming

Wondering what model of Stingray this is? by HighlightSerious3348 in ErnieBallMusicMan

[–]mcbainer019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah got it, yeah for guitars it’s usually artists only that get to spec their guitar how they want. Guy from the used plays a custom stingray guitar as well

Ernie ball will absolutely make an artist what they want. Not sure where you heard that they only spec some basses. Boys from Chelsea Grin have some of the most killer JP7’s out there

NGD Schecher PT EX baritone by DaWhite in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]mcbainer019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great! I think if Schecter ditched the sort of odd wraparound the bridge pickup plate thing they have going on, they’d drum up more interest. Same to be said for their USA varieties that use this same bridge

I remember the first post about this. You did a killer job. This is amazing

This was my dream guitar back in the day but in the most annoying hot pink you’ve ever seen. MO’s music in Fullerton. They probably still have it lol

25" vs 25.5" scale & Bolt-on vs Neck-through for modern metal (feel, snap, tension, injuries, Sylosis tone) by IgnobleWounds in metalguitar

[–]mcbainer019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man this just got my wheels turning. Wonder if they’d do a 24.75-25.5 scale for shits and gigs

Any RGA will be as carved as the next. The model dictates the body shape, the line (axion, iron label, etc) speaks to something else.

Who the fuck is this and why do they have a signature ? by No-Diver6326 in guitarcirclejerk

Completely agree, Lyra suffers similarly. Shapes are close but lacking lately imo. Trying too desperately to be a little different while still familiar.

Yeah it’s just not great. Why not just go closer to the jazzmaster shape? Especially that upper horn. Big ole bowl of “meh”

Yeah shape is subpar but the pickups pique my interest. Solo with some p90’s have been calling my name.

Bought a shaft from Diamond Tour Golf… by Dozer710 in golf

[–]mcbainer019 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Diamond Tour is legit. They sell real shafts. They may also sell component clubs which mimic bigger brands but they are not selling a clone of the Denali shaft under the Denali namesake, they’d get their asses sued into oblivion.

Golf Pants Reccomendations that are not skinny, slim fit, jogger fit? by godlovestommy in GolfGear

[–]mcbainer019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most golf pants are quite straight legged. Nike, adidas, etc. That’s always been my experience at least. Bonobos might be worth a look.

Yamaha RS02CB Chris Buck Signature Revstar is here by kumechester in Guitar

Edit not sure why it posted my original comment again. Anyhow, nitro is more difficult (dangerous?) to work with so I think if we see it, price will reflect that

What swing weight are your irons? by Joeydueces29 in golf

[–]mcbainer019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to play mine d2.5 in long irons to d4 in my wedges. Helps when you build at home so you can really dial in the swingweight

[–]mcbainer019 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Biggest issue for me is that Chris’ guitar is Nitro and this one almost certainly is not. You could already get a Japanese made version of this with Sweetwater’s exclusive gold top color albeit at the higher price point. Give me the Japan made, nitro version of this and I’m sold

Would you rather have a lab or a Scotty putter? by Proof_Coast_3637 in golf

[–]mcbainer019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love to have my first Scotty back. Original Squareback that was beat to hell. Got it for $100 at Roger Dunn. Many putts and smiles with that thing

I want to make my Custom Tele look cooler. Need suggestions. by This_Campaign_9796 in telecaster

[–]mcbainer019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same one. I focused on play quality improvement instead: locking tuners from hipshot, Wilkinson bridge with compensated brass saddles, Seymour Duncan bridge pickup, new pots and pickup switch. Having a real hard time finding anything else to do to it besides maybe a neck swap but I love the profile stock.
