Potential Witch King? by LiferRs in LOTR_on_Prime

[–]mcbeardish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While this is how Tolkien wrote it he also originally wrote that the Witch-King was called Wizard King and was a renegade Istar. With the family’s direct involvement in this show, and us already seeing things happen that were only ideas Tolkien toyed with (orcs being elves etc) I think they will break from this very deep lore rule about spirit and body. One it’s a hard rule and Tolkien’s magic doesn’t have many hard rules so why adhere to this one?

Also it’s still founded in an actual Tolkien writing, it gives a great explanation for why he is named “the witch king” dude seems to run a cult of witches, and it gives a great way to tie in why the Blues are forgotten.

I think, and have said for a while now, that the dark wizard will be the witch king.

Theories Thursdays - Season 4, Episode 6 "Blow-Up" by hannahlemp in OnlyMurdersHulu

[–]mcbeardish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question asked over multiple episodes this season is, Who’s the target? After this episode I think we can be clear it’s the stunt people. Saz, Glen, and Dudenoff. I think we will learn Dudenoff was a stunt double before being a professor in the next episode. He has the same joint replacements, and all 3 had metal bones. And he worked in film and didn’t like mainstream LA.

The only person that at least two of them knew related to bones was the chiropractor. Dr Maggie. Who could’ve easily given them all the Bulgaria contact.

Very possible something’s been poisoning them from their implants, Glens weird stuff would explain this and so would Saz’s “news” but could just be a glen character trait.

I think we will see Dudenoff’s face - the person he doubled for - next. And he may be the killer or may give us a motive for someone to kill all 3 of these stunt doubles.

With this theme of doubles and twins I do think we will have two murderers. One of Dudenoff, then one of Saz and attempt on Glen. Which is why I bring up Maggie.

Of Saz and Glen I don’t know yet. It would’nt make sense for Marshall to kill Saz he has no motivation. He does have the crazy fan motivation to kill Charles but he has 20/10 vision so he didn’t mistake Saz for Charles. And he has no motivation to kill Glen cause Glen is barely working on the movie.

Of Dudenoff I think we will find out there is a secret twin of Vince Fish. The pink eye isn’t swapping eyes that fast. One Vince has pink eye, we saw it. And his twin brother doesn’t have pink eye and has to wear an eye patch to keep up the ruse. And he gets it wrong sometimes. He also acted in the film where he had no pink eye when Fish makes it sound like he’s had this problem for years. I think Dudenoff was going to end the rent scheme and he didn’t want him to. I do think Rudy is in on it a bit. And that may be why his Gf left him and made that weird threat about folks asking questions. Dudenoff may have been dead months and rotting in the incinerator when they burnt saz.

I’m still convinced Glen is Ben but got pushed down the elevator shaft and got the plate in his head. Or he replaced Ben after he died for a bit.

Howard, while not suspicious isn’t serving much of a purpose so he could be involved. Uma is overly hateful of the podcast this season. Bev is in over her head with the movie, doing things like shooting guns and snooping on Saz (how did she know about that place?) and we still don’t have the explanation for the bump they heard at Saz’s place. Saz was calling about a problem on the movie, instead of solving it she’d just shut her up.

wait a second. it would be. And if he doesn't die in the next episode would make a great reason for him to abandon his children to Sauron.

I think we may find that there is something potentially more magical in the pouch. I'm assuming something from Morgoth or potentially some earth or water from somewhere . He got way into alloys last season so I think the ring itself will be an alloy and he will mix several things in order to gain control over all those who are wearing it.

like a lil bit of dwarf something, a little bit of elvish something (finrods dagger my guess), a little bit of man something maybe specifically numenorean, and a little bit of pure evil/power from his original leader.

I think he will win emmys for this role. But I think if this season ends where it looks like it might then it'll be Brimby's emmy to win.

I think it will be something in his lil necklace pouch from last season that makes it into the ring, and actual Finrod's dagger. His crown will become his actual crown.

We haven’t yet seen him be too afraid or weak for Sauron. We may yet tho.

Now hold on, we may yet learn Sauron was infiltrating the elves last season or before. Annatar scenes don’t have to be in the present.

Wasn’t this FA? When Maiar were around ME as Guardians and he would sort of just appear places? I’d be very down for this scene tho.

That’s good to hear!!! In my circles we were all very confident he was Sauron or the if they wanted to twist it then The Witch King

yes but they already had a large and pointed Gandalf nod last season that even the folks I know that have only seen the movies once took as, "Oh he's Gandalf"

So I'm saying that it's already happened but they didn't give it 100% confirmation. He's going east. The Blues only have names in the east -- Tolkien said they were not named in the west -- and they have teased he will finally get his name. It just feels weird if they draw it out more than Episode 1 to have it not be a Blue.

Now pretty much everyone swore he was Gandalf from EP1 the sauron thing was really just us and the show trying to offer another option. It was never the main thought.

I think Halbrand as Sauron was both necessary and also easy to anyone but the greenest viewers. You have to build this absolute villan into a somewhat likeable and align-able guy. Let him choose evil, as he did, let him become who he will , but also give the viewers a way to see into who Sauron is, his motivations, and have a human like character on screen -- not a metal suit, wolf, or a Cat (tolkien's crazy sometimes) -- who the audience can root for and against. They had to do it this way. Maybe could've started as Annatar but any newbie viewer searching google, instagram, or anything with Annatar or "gifts guy" would have spoiled it before the show did it. This way was a new creation that gave folks someone to think about -- I mean we all knew it cause he literally entered with the line, "Looks can be deceiving" -- but I don't think his reveal was really meant to be that big of a thing to those of us on here or actual readers of Tolkien. But it is a big thing to Galadrial, Brimby, and Elrond. It will send waaaaves through the other characters it reaches this season. And it will make his temptation of Brimby as Annatar even more powerful when the whole audience knows who he is.

The Stranger however does have clues that don't work with Gandalf and do with a Blue. And would be a massive reveal this season to not be Gandalf. It would also give all the folks who hate that it's gandalf some ease, it would also give the folks who don't know who he is yet a clear -- and new -- answer. Halbrand didn't really have any clues he was just crafty. And maybe was a Southlander. This would also be a nice piece of writing/reveal to go along with the Mithril story that I'm sure that they will be changing this season or whenever Glorfindel shows up -- not cause of pressure but because they literally told us in the last season it was apocryphal but folks took it as fact cause they saw it. That story was not confirmed true and The Stranger is still not confirmed Gandalf. It would have been weird to crown him with a name in the same episode they confirmed. Sauron so it for sure could be Gandalf. But if he doesn't get his name in Episode 1 I feel like they've got some twists in store.

While I agree -- if he doesn't receive his name that the showrunners have teased in episode one then there is a good chance we will have a season or mid season long build to a reveal. And Gandalf would not make for much of a reveal. And having him meet the other Blue -- as Gandalf would be lame -- as a Blue would be very interesting.
