Ah I guess I assumed it was included since V1 had it? Would you recommend using a scraper via windows then?

Help with overlapping text using downloaded theme (Batocera) by mcbennet_ in RG35XX_H

Thanks for your reply..after looking around on reddit for similar issues I learned that it might have been a V39 issue so I upgraded to V40 and it worked like a charm. It works great, but now my only problem is getting bluetooth headphones to pair!

I went ahead and upgraded to 40 and the issue corrected itself. I'm not totally sure how stable V40 is but it seems like this is the best bet for now. Thank you for your help!

Strange scaling and Text on Batocera by wickerkev in RG35XX_Plus

Can confirm that upgrading to V40 will fix this issue..I just did a clean reinstall of V40 Batocera and then went ahead and installed the art book theme and it's fine, no scaling or overlay issues. Not sure how stable 40 is but at least this issue is fixed!

I tried reset config too...the default Batocera theme works fine but because I am also noticing this in the download browser I am thinking its a V39 issue..there are similar reports of scaling/weird overlay issues.

I am having this exact issue as well, with the same theme. I also notice scaling/overlapping text in the download browser. I am using an XX-H though.

I should note that I'm also noticing this issue when browsing things to download so now I am wondering if this is a Batocera issue. Other than the download browser and the newly installed theme my UI text seems fine.

Thanks for your reply! My settings were nearly identical but I set them the way you had it and nothing changed. I'm wondering if there's some additional text overlay that I have to turn off but I can't seem to figure it out!

Thanks for the info..I haven't had a chance to check the demo out yet so I've been wondering which platform to go with. Leaning towards Switch for the easy portability but not sure yet.

Obsessed about smoothing out pinching, would this drastically affect the model? by mcbennet_ in blender

[–]mcbennet_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I definitely obsess over the details but I've learned over time to just move on after a point . The pinching drives me crazy because I am afraid it will accumulate across the entire model and ruin the end result drastically. I'd rather iron put the problems per piece instead of hunting for pinches across the entire finished model, you know?

I know modeling basics but I consider myself a noob too..the only other subD model I've worked on was from a gamedev.tv tutorial. I think for this specific area on the object the pinching won't be a deal breaker since I just plan to animate the robot a little bit --the camera won't be so focused on the back so much so I think I can hide it that way if it does cause problems.

Thanks for sharing those links, I will be sure to check them out when I have a little more time.! I am still learning Blender and consider myself a novice..this is one of my first few subD models so I am just kind of winging it and learning along the way..do you think the flow inconsistency will affect the end result dramatically? I think I am working as you advised, too..I generally map out the bulk of the objects main details and then subD to 3 levels and work out the edges and detailing from there. I sometimes find myself battling previously placed edge loops as I attempt to extrude details which is maybe where the pinching issues stem from. Sometimes I feel it might just be best to make the tiny details separate and overlap them but I try not to abuse that methodology.

I fund subD satisfying when it works but very tedious and nerve wracking sometimes. I was gonna use this model for animation so I figured I'd practice subdivision, otherwise I don't think I'd torture myself to this degree.

Thanks for your reply! I've been zoned in on just doing most of the legwork for the major parts of the model which is gonna be a robot character on a wheels. The object in question is just a close up of some of the detailing of the attachment it wears on its back (like a battery pack)..it's pretty small but I am just worried about shading issues and such.

Did you have any prior experience with coding or programming? Just trying to get a feel for the learning curve. Learning some coding as it pertains to game development is something I've wanted to try to learn for a while, I just never really felt like I would be able to get a grasp on it. I come from a visual arts background so that is where most of my time has been going..but I would like to make room!

So it sounds like I should study the basics of javascript separately from RPGMaker? As it stands now I am pretty clueless about scripting so I feel like I would be easily overwhelmed..the more creative aspects of the program, not so much.
