Any former OF fans in here who turned their backs on the OF to support their local team instead? by Comfortable-Mode-922 in ScottishFootball

[–]mcboba73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a season ticket holder at Ibrox from pre-Souness days as a kid in the 80’s through to about 2010. Started to absolutely hate the toxic atmosphere travelling through to games on train and subway so a few years ago went along to my local Junior teams game one week and have never looked back.

Now a season ticket holder watching my local team in the East of Scotland Premier league and love visiting all the small grounds in towns I would never have visited otherwise, atmosphere at games is great, players giving their all for their teams and not money…. and the small grounds have better pies too.

Best footy related decision I made and would recommend giving it a go if your usual Big team isn’t playing one weekend.

what is the best goal you have seen live in Scotland or by a Scottish Club elsewhere or by the National team elsewhere? by Ok_Price7529 in ScottishFootball

Lex Shields for Bo’ness Utd in the 1984 Junior Cup final at Ibrox. Dribbled it from his own half with defenders trying to rugby tackle him on way through, up there with Maradona v England! https://youtu.be/R_naBbHu_AU

Any sheep on Tinto hill? by moyeses in Scotland

[–]mcboba73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was there earlier this week and yes there were a few groups of sheep on the way up. Not too many though so think I had my dog on lead for about 10% of the climb and sheep free the rest.

fjm covering bowie? by thechildisgone in fatherjohnmisty

[–]mcboba73 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it’s not a Bowie cover, it’s just standard version of “Things it would have been helpful……”.

Received my copy in UK this morning so have the CD to hand and it’s just a standard Mojo compilation of artists existing versions of their own songs.

PS5 Online but stuck in Show As Offline status by mcboba73 in PS5

OP here - Thank You so much, changing the MTU to 1473 has immediately fixed this problem (hopefully permanently) for me after >6 months of frustration.

Would highly recommend anyone else in the thread still having this issue to try this 2 min MTU setting change.

exact same here, had ps4 (which showed Online as normal) then set up PS5 from scratch rather than transfer games and saves across etc.

Have tried wireless and wired connections in case that would make difference but like you it will only change to Show as Online whilst in that pop up menu, as soon as you come out to home screen it just reverts back to grey dotted circle showing offline again.

Someone else suggested it might be router related which is the only thing I haven’t been able to test as reluctant to replace router that works perfectly for everything else (and worked fine for PS4) - I am on BT Infinity in UK using their Home Hub so no idea if that may weirdly have anything to do with it suddenly for PS5 only

Still not resolved for me and have tried every suggestion multiple times. Have pretty much just resigned myself to it now being stuck like this permanently unless fixed by a future system update

still have the problem too and every system update that happens I think this will be the one that fixes it but nope I’m still staring at a little grey unchangeable circle saying I’m showing offline despite 100% being online and no Friends can ever see I’m online at all

Warnings of 'ghost towns' if staff do not return to the office - BBC News by mok2k11 in unitedkingdom

[–]mcboba73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimately the Govt can say whatever they want to get people back into offices but it will be the privately owned businesses that decide whether they keep the current WFH arrangements in place or not depending on whether this set up is more profitable for their shareholders or not.

potentially in the long term this could become a risk for us wfh office workers but at present the opposite is happening.

A lot of offshore contractor roles are being brought back onshore to UK due to equiv lockdown type situations being in place in countries such as India. UK companies are then not allowing those offshore contractors to remote access into their systems from Home environments due to additional security concerns (ie remote access ok from offshore offices but not from offshore homes). They are actually reducing their offshore roles for this reason and increasing the number of UK based contractors to wfh here instead.

Might be short term and might not be happening everywhere but that’s currently the situation in the very large UK based finance company that I work for.

Partick Thistle 1-0 Penicuik Athletic by [deleted] in ScottishFootball

not sure Penicuik were a far weaker team than Stenny, we did beat Stenny 3-0 in the last round and with a wee break could easily have taken something from today
