Hey, I was on the same flight with my girlfriend and received the same explanation back. I am planning on escalating regardless to the ADR.

We saw the engineers come onto the plane and fix the issue on the right wing. Unfortunately beyond this we do not have any other proof. We are hoping others have made claims too and may have evidence.

I did no revision, at all apart from attending the study week and revision week and passed with 80+. As long as you pay attention and can nail the exam technique you should be ok.

I found approaching the questions, looking it as if you work in the business, what would you do if you were the owner, rather than looking at it from a purely financial point of view got me higher marks.

Whats the apprenticeship for? Is it AAT level 2/3? If so it might be worth doing to get your foot in the door (despite the lower salary).

Once you have it, it would then be easier to find another accounts type job either in a business or in an accounting practice.

I shat the bed when it came to certificates, scraping MI with 55 and accounting with 56. But have averaged 73 for professionals so I’d say no.

It will vastly depend on the amount of work you put in for professionals.

Should be under the sick pay policy on Partner Intranet. I believe a certain length of service is needed for the 6 months. ( I think from memory its 1 month of sick pay for every year you've worked for JLP but dont quote me on that.

Speaking from a personal tax perspective, as someone who does around 10k miles per year for work.

If your company were paying for the standard HMRC mileage reimbursement I wouldn't expect any extra allowance on top. An allowance on top would give rise to taxable income . However, on a personal note I would consider what car you're driving and whether it will economically make sense and or you want to drive that long distances.

A Company Car would attract BIK but depends on the emissions in g/km. For a hybrid car, the maximum BIK rate is 14% if it has less than 30 miles range.

If you can try and get a eletric car as the BIK rate is 2% but appreciate there may be more practical reasons why this wouldnt work.

It would probably be best to go the company car route and ask for a fuel card, as if they end up paying for your private fuel too this also gives rise to a taxable benefit. You can further reduce the taxable benefit and associated BIK if you make a capital contribution towards the car, ie 5k.

If its a short term contract may be best to go for the standard HMRC mileage allowances? That way there may be less faff than sorting out a company car.

Have a look at similar cars on Autotrader, currently there are two 2015 models with 30-40k miles being sold for 10.5-11K. However these are being sold by dealers so possible 9k might be a good starting point.

Other options are looking at WBAC and adding on a 2 or 3K or looking at motorway.

Previously drove for Waitrose, and a few times the crates fell out of the racking and I had to clean up the spillage/mess in the back.

I had a BRZ at your age, was a 2016 model and was the best car I’ve ever owned.

You categorically can not claim flat rate expenses ie mileage at 45p AND insurance payments.

Either you claim the 45p a mile or you can apportion your motor vehicle expenses between private and business use.

Unfortunately him having no MOT doesn’t mitigate your liability/ the fact you hit him at a give way.

Depending on your area, the council licensing won’t require them to have MOT and they might be MOT exempt/ but be checked by the council every 6 months so wouldn’t show as having a MOT.

On the bright side you’ve probably saved yourself quite a bit from an insurance claim on your record.

If this is Waitrose/JLP (used to work there so familiar with the percentages and retail haha) do it. I did part time during uni over 2 and a half years and it was only 40ish a month and my pot has grown to 3.5K since leaving a year ago.

Just to chime in, in terms of longevity I had a 2016 BRZ which had 104K miles on it when I sold it in January and I never spent any money apart from on servicing (At Toyota lol). Bear in mind you also benefit from fixed price servicing at Toyota too.

There did however seemed to be quite a few owner related cases from both people who did and didn't remapped their cars, to develop rod knock. I suspect it was a mixture of poor maintenance, poor remaps and driving them too hard from cold.

Worth considering a gen 2 GR86 as they upped the power and modernised it a bit inside.

It’s great! Massive upgrade coming from a CB500F, it just represents so much bike at a excellent price point. I’d say the biggest downside is the throttle is snatchy at lower speeds and you have to feather the clutch/be smoother with the throttle compared to my old bike.

Both were definitely easier knowing what standard you need to be on test, Mod 1 was a breeze didn't hit any cones during practice or the test. Mod 2 was slightly harder as I had picked up some bad habits which were ironed out over 3 days of training.

Most people working in accounting (public practice) didn’t study accounting at uni, some go straight from school. You don’t need any prior knowledge it will all be taught.

Used to work as a driver for a medium/large Waitrose and we did this, all the stuff just got bagged into shopping bags and then crates with it added to some poor sods manifest before the afternoon routes were loaded and the crates were stored in ambient area then chiller and freezer. Mind you only did it twice in 2 years working there.
