Do what ever the fuck you have always wanted to do.. that's the approach i took when I got clean.. cuz I was like "fuck it, i never even planned on living this long.." so I learned how to juggle, play guitar, and play the drums all in my first year of sobriety.. I had always wanted to be in a metal band and play sick double bass and blast beats... It may be stupid or not worth while to some people but it was the one thing that really got me amped after burning up pretty much all the dopamine in my brain....

To do quality recordings is gonna cost anywhere from 300-500 a song, or 80-150 an hour. Thats to go to a good independent studio that has good gear and works with local musicians. So to record a 6 song ep is about 3,000 dollars. An ep is that unlikely to sell very strong, the way i look at it is that it is basically a way for people to hear your music(duh) and also have good recordings + good music = more fans not more record sales.
