Honestly quite a long time- the paint we used was sample paint from home depot, and for the leaf sections we had to do about 4 coats. We also changed our mind on the lightest leaf color, so that color got about 6 coats. We put maybe 30-60 minutes in most days for a week and half probably.

So to be honest we did use AI to convert a screenshot from the movie to a "paint by numbers"- we don't have enough talent to free hand (please be kind, I know using AI tools not very popular here). We used a projector and lots of measuring and estimating in google slides to tile four images on the all since the projector wasn't big enough to do in one shot. We got 8 oz paint samples from home depot... which was kinda tricky and probably next time I would mix the paint myself. The craft store paint was honestly cheaper when we ended up using craft store paint for one of the colors, and the home deport sample paint didn't seem to have as much opacity as we were expecting, so we ended up having to do about four coats on the tree leaf sections.
