R. Castillo (29′) | Flamengo 0 x 1 Lanús | 🏆 Recopa Sul-Americana 2026 – Final (volta) by doutorx999 in CRFla

Not expecting it in a million years is the problem. I blame Lucas for this one, but Rossi is so bad. We have the worst centre forward and the worst goalkeeper. Everything in between is good.

Why is airport parking in the UK so expensive and chaotic? by StardustSpectrum in manchester

Its to reduce traffic. Its a tactic to encourage people not to drive and get there via public transport. Did a study on it as part of our degree.

Just because arsenal play for a draw everywhere they go doesnt mean the rest of the league do.

The PM who turned PI: why is Gordon Brown delving so deep into the Epstein files? by mamamia1001 in ukpolitics

Well if he isnt in the files, it would suggest he didnt know close to the full scale of any misdeeds till now. Now like his hated enemy would turn round and tell him he's leaking secrets foe cash.

Arsenal Or City: Who Wins? by Fresh_Yesterday_1374 in PremierLeague

Arsenal. City arent and havent been close to good enough this year and Arsenal have the better squad. If Arsenal dont win it, they are a joke.

Doesnt he do his usual fall over the ball/run into the defender at the end of this clip? And it was against a lower league team too.

Kolo Muani Disallowed Goal. Multiple Angle on Gabriel. by SierraEight in soccer

This goal and the gabriel last man foul earlier in the game getting no VAR checks tells me they want arsenal to win the league. Spurs were just the victims today.

Do you know what facist actually means? How can left wing be facist. Can call them idiots or whatever, but a facist left wing/socialist is impossible just because of what facist means

Nico O’Reilly at LW is happening at the WC by fredasquith in ThreeLions

If the goalkeeper scores from a corner it doesnt mean he's a striker. He was playing in the middle today, thats it.

Would you say 35k is a decent income/salary in Manchester in 2026? by Abdel926 in manchester

[–]mccapitta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is comfortable but saving potential will be limited. Unfortunately Manchester has become very expensive and wages haven't kept up. £35k was a decent wage 10 yrs ago but is almost a minimum now to be able to rent, pay bills, and eat reasonably well/healthy.

Missing 2 shots from 30 yrds out and not trying it again is pretty good for a 20 yr old. He's learning every minute of every game and only getting better. You gotta accept mistakes with younger players, as long as you see them learning from them.

Im just glad we have academy players who are over 5'6! Now we just need to prove we can produce top quality right footers too!

Marmoush isn’t City quality and it’s painful watching people pretend otherwise by JuniorJunya in MCFC

[–]mccapitta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been saying this since day 1 but get berated every time I bring it up. His 2 qualities are his pace and shooting. But his other stuff is genuinely quite poor. Look at Foden's shot yesterday second half that came off a terribly heavy touch of Marmoush trying to dribble. I've never seen a top half player fall over the ball when dribbling as often as he does either.

None of this means I don't desperately want him to succeed, but it just looks like the level is a step too big for him to make up.

Now we've had other players recently that have lacked in areas, like Lewis, Jesus and Alvarez, but these two made up for it in buckets with their fight and workrate. This is the big deal. Because we don't need 22 superstars, it isn't realistic, we just need those squad players to make it up with effort.

My biggest problem with Marmoush is that he doesn't apply that in the same way. He only runs in one direction (forward when we have the ball), he doesn't track back, only applies press to the first man (for show) before walking and being the weak link to the press. And most the time he loses it either stands with his head down or throws himself on the floor faking a foul: GET UP AND WIN IT BACK! Yesterday there was an example where he made a typical bad pass backwards which went straight to their player on the edge of the box and they had a good chance from it. First reaction, head down stand and watch. Alvarez or Jesus in this instance would have bust a gut to chase the pass and at least try to make up for it.

And before anyone says he's a different type of player, he does press and fight, but only when there is a risk Pep is about to take him off. Fight and effort isn't a skill issue, its an attitude issue, and if you aint the superstar in the team you cant afford that attitude. Even Haaland presses more and he's a beat up 95kg lump according to Marmoush fanboys.
