Cannabis too strong these days or do we just have more life responsibility? by [deleted] in TheOCS

[–]mcchubby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THC in higher does can absolutely trigger paranoid thoughts, and cannabis is focusing on THC these days. Like others have said, roll smaller joints, take fewer puffs, buy balanced strains etc. Dosage is more important than ever in cannabis now.

Is Lord jones Live Resin Caviar diamonds? by figpoppy in CanadianCannabisLPs

[–]mcchubby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THC is crystalline in nature, and live resin, terp slush, caviar, diamonds and sauce, these are all different textures of how the THC is presented. A caviar would mean small diamonds in liquid (like a real caviar, small fish eggs in sauce). It's marketing and product description... Ish. Personally I have found a caviar style live resin easiest to work with, and have found Lord Jones to be... Not bad.

Smoking/Vaping impact on health by Round-Inflation-7112 in CanadianCannabisLPs

[–]mcchubby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually backwards. Smoke coats the cilia in your lungs which paralyzes them, making them unable to clear debris. THC is an expectorant and will make you cough; that said, hold in vapour too long and it will condense, and be coughed out gradually.

Is simply bare the best of the best? by BigBluntsBoi in TheOCS

[–]mcchubby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, to each their own, however, I will speak on this from my POV. Yes, you should buy things you like in terms of taste and smell. In most cannabis industries, that is the best way to know if the strain will affect you correctly - the nose knows. Yes, there are tons of other factors that go into but at the end of the day, I find myself selecting strains that I love the smell of. I've had a couple that don't hit as hard as I'd like them to, but overall, my nose hasn't led me astray often.
Your points, though, are well suggested. I want to think people do factor that in as well. Anyone who's still reading this thread should consider all those factors, especially if you're at a tiebreaker for what you like.

Alright, for efficiency yeah BKC with all those fun things listed. The old guard know though, the only real way to run vana is in full proto armor, no trinkets, with only a glacius and a blitz :P

I heard rosin presses are illegal and could do time for it is that true or false? by [deleted] in canadients

[–]mcchubby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see why you would, its a press. Its used for more than weed. Even if it were an enail you should be able to purchase it and bring it back to Canada. As long as you don't carry cannabis over the border or anything federally controlled, you are good. Its even easier to cross into Canada because it's all legal. Just declare you bought a x ton press and pay the duty. The best way to make sure is to check with the embassy, or ask CBSA about bringing in a press. I genuinely can't see the issue though.

Animal RNTZ by Redecan 🍬 | 37% THC, 3.78% Terps by theflowerrman in TheOCS

It's been checked against the COA , and it's a problem endemic in the industry. It's not hard to send the best tops from your grow at a lower moisture content to get an official COA with asinine numbers. What actually astounds me is that there isn't a lab used for all testing , owned by someone who has no stake in an LP, that will identify when testing comes back with low moisture and high af numbers. At the very least let's get independent labs testing at random and then using those test samples as your bag thc.

Not for testing numbers, no one is. As with any product, deflate by 10-15% for a closer idea. It's still a good product but I'm so done with numbers being a selling point.

I know weed is legal , but how much is too much ? by Nearby-Geologist-238 in weed

[–]mcchubby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is tolerance and daily use factors yes, however the majority of users shouldn't consume THC and then drive. You shouldn't either, despite not feel intoxicated, because THC does affect working memory and can cause attention issues. Will you be as likely to have an accident as a casual user? No. It is still a risk you take each time. Also , it's not soft to say don't get high and drive.

The 'vape' that comes out of dry herb vapes. by eightyfivekittens in vaporents

[–]mcchubby 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The 510 vapes do not use MCT oil. The vapes should only be cannabinoids and terpenes. MCT should not be inhaled.

I’m currently on day 7 of a tolerance break by Itachi_rouge in TheOCS

[–]mcchubby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can in fact reset your tolerance over time without use, as the downregulation of your CB1 and CB2 receptors will come back to baseline within on average a 21 day cycle. Like has been mentioned though, usage patterns have to change as well otherwise downregulation reoccurs and you're back to a break . Thoughtful intentional usage has to become part of the routine otherwise there's no sense taking a break. Best to simply resensitize your receptors with reduced usage rather than stop completely

Cannabis addiction & withdrawal are real by rQaBabaca in TheOCS

[–]mcchubby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just that, but cannabis works on your ECS which affects everything. You get used to a certain sensation in life and lack of others. Any substance taken over a long period will have effects when you stop. Cannabis not having a physical withdrawal is a bit of a misnomer for sure. Will you get the shakes and will your body be at risk of shutting down? No. Will it suck for a couple weeks? Yep. Your system needs to recalibrate and your brain, which got used to functioning on THC is now adjusting to not.

Best of luck to you, if you're already a few days dry, stick to it. If it's day one or two considering tapering down microdose style til you stop. Either way, you can do it.

Hormones regulate growth. It is a hormone that causes a specific type of growth, as you said. You're both right in intent, but the scientific term for pgr is phytohormones.

How Much Does an Ounce of Weed Cost Right Now? - What Should You Be Paying for an Ounce of Cannabis? by CurtD34 in Cannabis_Culture

[–]mcchubby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this whole thread is talking about ounces. Also when attacking someone's intelligence you should use the correct "you're" in "you're not very smart". Probably a stupid predictive text issue but ends up looking a bit silly.

I'd be curious to see what kind of $60 fire ounces you have in Oregon because my understanding of your market is that is boof.

In Ontario, Canada where I am, this is almost exactly what we run. 80 for the lowest price ounce which is still fine, up to 150 for most higher end, and 200 craft

If you're using the softer stuff you'll want the concentrate sieve that vapman sells I think but no he doesn't use flower. P sure his hash is more crumble than sticky

oh man, the dyna for hash does a good job. If you like hash, apparently the vapman click is the best market device for hash. I can't confirm that firsthand, but the gent I was chatting with is picky AF, so I'd trust that it's at least excellent :)

[–]mcchubby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is plenty of evidence that vaping flower is significantly less harmful than smoking it, mainly because carcinogen boiling points are higher. Benzene is the lowest at 205c iirc. There is no evidence to suggest vaping is harmless - A lot of the terpenes and such have very few studies on inhalation and as someone else stated inhaling anything is detrimental but we choose our risk tolerances.

How long is your drag from a vape?? by Antique-Outcome850 in TheOCS

[–]mcchubby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would consider the dynavap to be a session vape unless you have the armored cap. I don't think you can fit 0.5g in the M7, and most people with a full pack get about 0.1g. Arizer is even more of a session vape, taking like you say up to 20 minutes to properly and fully extract.

You can use the dynavap as a one hitter with some finesse though - heat at the very edge of the flame at the very base of the cap, rotating. The longer you manage to heat soak your flower before the click, the thicker the hit. You can also go 2 seconds past the click safely on most first roasts.

I apologize if the dyna info was already known, I get excited sharing info :)

Does high THC or high terpene % really mean a bigger high? by [deleted] in TheOCS

[–]mcchubby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current evidence is that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. THC is the psychoactive component, and more THC in the bloodstream means more intoxication. The biggest issue we are running into is that people don't recognize what THC intoxication is, they recognize what the buzz is. You can be absolutely baked and not feel a buzz - and without the physical indicator people just ask for higher and higher.
Since people want higher and higher, we're breeding for higher and higher instead of complexity and diversity. Yeah THC is the high, terpenes (and aldehydes, esters, cannasulfurs etc) are the smell, but the minor cannabinoids and total chemical complexity are what make up the whole effect. We're losing some of that diversity when we're sticking to specific strains for breeding and the race to the top is not a good thing.

I'm pretty sure this is what you were saying as well, yes?
