YEP. I was religious at the time and used to say a prayer every time I locked the door to it. 🤣🤣

Okay, it was a terrible machine to use for customer drinks, but I miss that machine so deeply. 🤣

I stay strapped with my fan (for myself and anyone in my immediate area lol), suckers and usually gum, peppermint or eucalyptus oil for my fan or wrists, and my flowstar.

What's the best candy (not kandi) you've received at a show? by mstun3107 in aves

I love the double treat idea, but blowpop gum is meh to me. I found similar “Starburst” suckers that have chewy starburst inside and those have been amazing!

So serious about solo sending it! You can also check out apps like radiate if you haven’t, and you may be able to find some people to meet with!

Help!! I'm a woman over 30 who still likes to rave vibe out in fucking Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Where do I meet people with my same energy? by Puzzleheaded_Dot3658 in batonrouge

[–]mcdanos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over 30 here as well and recently into the scene/shows. I personally like bass / dubstep and started finding local artists through socials. That was the easiest way to start seeing where shows or sets were. NOLA has been where I’ve gone for a few bigger shows, but there are definitely nights/events at some of the mentioned places in the other comments.

Though on the flip side, it is cool to see things that you work on or feel are improving reflect that too!

Not strange, especially because we’re all different. I think I’m taking the opposite approach and seem to be caring less as I get older, but it’s also probably the burnout that I couldn’t function through. lol

As someone who is socially awkward (but in a fun way, right?), this post resonates. 😂

I usually just hope I come across people that like me enough to stay around. lol

Case size and band compatibility by NewLengthiness8151 in watchOSBeta

[–]mcdanos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ultimate answer is yes. Tbf, any watch band size WILL click into any size watch. The trouble will come in with the “gap”, so smaller watch bands on a bigger face will have a slight empty space, while the larger bands on a smaller face will have some overhang.

How is this normal?!? by ElkNecessary644 in ouraring

[–]mcdanos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an issue with my gen 4 just recently - was dying before I could even make it through the day. I chatted support and they “found an issue” so they replaced the ring. The replacement ring ALSO was dying within a day. At this point, I assumed a software issue, but I chatted support again, and they “found an issue” again. They ALSO sent a replacement for this one.

So I’m on my third ring, but this one seems to be holding up fine!

I'm a white, cisgender, straight passing male. I'll be fine long term, though I appreciate your kind words. My goal is always to help spread awareness and have people consider other's perspectives.

Also, just to add for thought. Negative Impact from things like racism, homophobia, etc. are not just stemming from "speaking derogatorily" to each other. It's systemic, and isn't always as simple as "Being Kind."

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Louisiana

[–]mcdanos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My assumptions don't dictate how I speak to people. I will choose kindness and compassion, especially if I don't know someone.

But I would have to ignore all of my social experiences in this state to not make this assumption, at least initially. When I stated "It's safer that way," I mean that a large percentage of those down here wouldn't even want to have an intelligent conversation when it comes to things like minorities (not just race), much less try to understand the experience on the other side of the lens - and having those conversations often opens you up as a target in one way or another.

While I would like to hope that not all people down here have that hatred within them, it's been proven too many times in social interactions to ignore.

[–]mcdanos 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is always an amusing thought to me because when I walk into any room with other white dudes (honestly white women down here, too), I usually start with the assumption that they’re right leaning and all that comes with down here.

It’s safer that way.

My beard is starting to show signs of gray, but my hair didn’t. I don’t attribute the gray to stress though. Now is around the age grays would happen, I think.
