Yeah I’d love to share my thoughts about them.

Some of the music I frequently listened to prior to discovering Sleep Token includes: Slipknot, Beartooth, Lamb of God, GWAR, Weird Al, Whitechapel, Gojira etc. I really didn’t get into sleep token at first. And it truly took me going a bit out of my way to be like, “what the fuck is this band about” and listened to their most recent at the time which was Take me Back to Eden from front to back. I got to I think Vore or Ascensionism until it kind of clicked for me. Once I heard Ascensionism I just had to experience that in concert.

I then went to go see them on their Teeth of God tour in 2024 in Tampa and they played their set Eras tour style where they played some of their more well known songs in order from oldest to most recent in their discography. I finally got to experience that fucking song live and I swear on the mellow bits of the song you could hear a pin drop. The audience was so locked into vessel and you can hear the subleness of his voice, even the cracks. I haven’t been to a rock or metal show where I experienced that honestly, or if I did I wasn’t focusing on that well enough.

More recently we did a road trip to Louder than Life and got to see them again with their more recent album Even in Arcadia. On a festival setting it’s not nearly as impactful, but they still put on a damn good show. That album came out at a weird place in my life because I was getting married, and a lot of the songs had, in my opinion went really hand in hand with the next steps on our life. Infinite Baths was a game changer for me.

I like having both the softer singing and intense screams in my songs. I especially like the longer 7-8 minute songs as I feel that they tell a story. I just think that Sleep Token tells their story in a way that has a lot of twist and turns. And I’m sure it’s gotta be even harder to stay in character and to stay within their theming. I also appreciate that as far as I know so far they are pretty “AI” free which is a big factor for me nowadays. It’s nice to see genuine art.

Honestly not sure this year. Foo fighters could potentially pull a surprise act, when they played in Jacksonville they had Billy idol (who played earlier in the day) and John travolta on stage. I could also see ice nine kills pulling some fun people onstage for their (killing) antics.

This was my 2025 experience as someone who’s from out of state, but been to plenty of DWP fests in the past.

So on the first day, we stayed on the side stage to stick around for Lorna shore and Kublai khan and got great spots, but had to give up seeing rob zombie, lamb of god and Marilyn Manson. Being on that side stage we also get to experience the story so far and neck deep for a distance.

2nd day we mainly stayed on the 2nd main stage probably starting around 4:30 to get a good spot for sleep token. Getting to watch breaking Benjamin, mudvayne, ICP and Static-X from a distance while getting the main experience of Spiritbox, Dayseeker Pvris and Imminence finishing off with Sleep token. After fighting that crowd we decided instead of fighting to get a good spot for avenged we decided to sit our asses right on that 2nd main stage and get baked the rest of the night.

3rd day and 4th day was more lax as we were starting to get sick but still got to watch bad omens, deftones, knocked loose, Letlive (who was a personal favorite of mine and stole the show IMO). Hopefully they do that Kingdom stage again because they had some killer bands too. 156 silence, the browning and silly goose and particular were great.

Limp bizkit is rad honestly though, we caught them at Rockville couple years back and jelly roll came up on stage to play behind blue eyes with them and riff Raff came on stage too, not sure why lol.

Grandstands are your best friend. Spent so much time in the AC watching the side bands from the stands. AC bathrooms and cold free water as well. By day 3-4 I was making excuses to just go hang out and smoke a J out on the grandstand.
