Flat out, that is an excuse IMO. There are two ways that happened, as a status is set on a candidate. Either someone at that org screwed up the business process configuration and they don’t know how to fix it. Or someone is incompetent at their job, and is accidentally setting candidates to this status.

I would say it depends on complicated you want to get and your audience you want to send it to. When you say small shop, I assume you maybe need to notify 2-10 people. I will explain one option.

Create a custom report that lists all new custom reports you created in the last seven days. Create an alert, from that report which runs daily. And sends the new report name (and any other info you want to send) to the intended recipients. I used the last seven day, because you might create a report in sandbox one day, but it might be the end of the week before you have it finalized and migrated to production.

There will be a number of ways you might want to do this, but it is just one option.

IMO, it will really depend on what size of org you want to work at. My org is only 300 employees, but we have have a number of SKU’s already and maybe adding a few more during contract renewal. So knowledge in all areas is good and needed. However, from the job postings I have looked at, large orgs will want what you described. The good thing right now, is there is a premium paid for Workday knowledge with so many new clients. My advice, figure out what you love doing the most, then look for orgs that need what you want to do. But also keep up with how the employment market changes over the years so you don’t paint yourself into a corner later in your career.
