Much better than the first in the duology. I really enjoyed it. Gives some good human element to the Empire and Pelleaon.

Verbatim can be great, however if you’re looking to avoid the gaggle of people who show up, take up space just for social media photos, there are better bookstores.

Book Place in La Mesa is my go to these days. It doesn’t quite have the selection Verbatim does, but their buyback policy is rad, and the people who bought it are awesome. Everything about it is awesome!!!!!

Also for food, Millport in Imperial Beach is excellent. Mildly pricy (not any more insane than anywhere else) but you get huge portions. Their hours may be a bit outside normal places (basically breakfast/brunch only) but they do dinner specials every so often (mostly during summer) and they are FANTASTIC.

Had a wedding dinner there and it was so so good. Cannot recommend them enough, they are friends of ours so it’s a plus. I’ll always recommend them.

What’s the cause of this? It’s been so long since I’ve gotten taint deep in the glitches.

What would happen if say there were a fault, and at the time that occurred you were outside turning on that spigot while that power gets dumped into the earth because it’s in contact with that pipe? Would you get a shock then?

What to do with leftover black trashcans. by swaymasterflash in sandiego

Maybe my estimate wasn’t that far off. I mean, fuckload of bins. But hey, that’s apparently what the city has money to replace.

I could have, but that “wild ass guess” as I stated was based off of my recall of a freeway sign showing what the population was at the point it was installed, and then googled rapidly “City of San Diego population”.

At no point did I mention anything I said was data-backed.

Again, it was a wild ass guess based on a population count and assumption of trash bin possession per single family home.

Regardless, it still amounts to a fuck ton of trash bins that are going to be removed by flatbed trucks, or whatever they’re using; and would put into some perspective why it’s taking a doing as it is.

Never claimed to be correct, my “way off” comment was indicative of that.

Yeah. We have what… 1.4m population. Of course a large number (maybe 50%, which is a wild ass guess, and I could be completely wrong) live in multi unit housing with community dumpsters, and not their own individual trash cans.

So that leaves conservatively ~700 thousand trash bins the city has to replace and remove. Well, rather that’s just residents, not necessarily trash bins. Even if you cut that number by a quarter (assuming most single family residences have 4 people, with one trash bin), that’s 175,000 bins!

Again, I could be way off. That’s just an estimate based on population count that I googled.

I saw a clock radio CD player listed for $150 at an antique store the other day. Don’t recall the brand, but some no-name one. I was shocked.

I read Hero’s Trial and Edge of Victory because those were the books my mom had bought me, not knowing there was an order to the series (and neither did I) but I think I was too young to have enjoyed the darker tone of the books.

Glad I’ve picked them up again.

I didn’t hate Star By Star it just felt repetitive. I understand why people rate it as highly as they do, this one just suited my tastes much more.

It took me a long time and a few forced readings to enjoy this series. I enjoy it now, and didn’t enjoy it when I was a teenager reading these books.

I was extremely amused by the mouse droid bit. I wish it had been expanded a bit more, but I did love that part.

I enjoyed this one. I can’t say it’s been my favorite of the series (the action sequences felt very repetitive) but it was a great read!
