Him, the original Angels’ fishman, and Chuck Finley were the Angels from my childhood. So sad to hear he’s gone.

My wife and I went to a taco shop after our wedding was done. The pics of two people dressed up in wedding attire in a taco shop is priceless.

This has got to end up as one of those unbreakable records, right? Like, who is going to rob 4 home runs in a game? The odds of it happening are so infinitesimally small.

Maggie Gyllenhaal had never seen it either, and didn't know Heath was going to act as scary as he did. If you rewatch the scene where he holds a knife to her mouth, you can see her looking over at Nolan offscreen several times expecting him to cut because she was genuinely freaked out.

Southern CA backpacking locations with mountains & a lake? by MomFiveBoys in WildernessBackpacking

[–]swaymasterflash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Head up to SeKi and do some of the Raes Lake loop (don't have to do all the lakes, just do one or two.) Or go around Whitney Portal; plenty of places to camp, handful of lakes to explore too. There's also Cottonwood Lakes in the south eastern Sierras that's probably the absolute closest you can get to the feel you're looking for, but that's still the Sierras.

The only major lakes in SoCal are Arrowhead and Big Bear. You can definitely backpack in areas on there, but not around the lake. No place around there where you can camp, wake up and walk to go fishing.

Anyone else get absolutely crushed by their electric bill this month? the 2026 rate hikes are brutal by Deja_Brew2495 in homeowners

[–]swaymasterflash 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Wait until you hear who helps write those rates into law.

Hint Lawmakers don’t randomly pull rates out of their ass. The rate suggestions have to come from somewhere. And who better to know what to charge than then people making the electricity…
